John A. Green to Receive the 2025 GEM Award for Lifetime Achievement

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY — Jewelers of America (JA), the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, and the GEM Awards Committee announced that John A. Green, President & CEO of Lux Bond & Green, will be the recipient of the GEM Award for Lifetime Achievement at the 23rd annual GEM Awards taking place on Friday, March 14, 2025, at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.

The GEM Awards gala honors the outstanding achievements of individuals or companies whose work raises the visibility and status of fine jewelry and watches. Green was selected by the GEM Awards Committee for his diligent devotion to the jewelry industry, his family-owned jewelry stores, GEM Awards, and his dedicated service throughout his celebrated career in the jewelry industry.

“It is our honor to be able to present the GEM Award for Lifetime Achievement to John A. Green. John has been a critical part of the success of GEM Awards, having served as Chair for GEM Awards and as Board Chair for Jewelers of America. We are grateful for all that John does for our industry and look forward to acknowledging his service with this important award,” says JA President & CEO David J. Bonaparte.

John A. Green is a graduate of Boston College and Gemological Institute of America (GIA). In 1992, John was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of Lux Bond & Green representing the fourth generation. Lux Bond & Green, established in 1898 by John’s great grandfather, has five locations located in Connecticut and Massachusetts, and a newer concept store called Store52 in West Hartford, CT. John has held several leadership positions within the jewelry industry and Greater Hartford community including the Saint Francis Hospital Foundation, Greater Hartford Community Foundation (Travelers Championship), West Hartford Chamber of Commerce, Jewelers Mutual Group, Jewelers of America, Jewelers for Children, Jewelry Information Center, GEM Awards, GIA and MJSA.

In addition to the GEM Award for Lifetime Achievement, Jewelers of America will be announcing the other GEM Award categories and nominees in the coming weeks.
