TIMEPIECES WERE A STAPLE during this awards season, spotted on the wrists of major male celebrities — actors and musicians alike. But the appeal of alluring, inventively designed watches doesn’t end when the red carpet rolls up. Both men and women have been sporting standout pieces well into the off-season, on screen and off.

Chris Pratt (seen with Charlie Day) wears a Jacob & Co. Epic X Chrono Tri Dial 44mm to promote the new Super Mario movie.
Off the red carpet, Chris Pratt wore a Jacob & Co. Epic X Chrono Tri Dial 44mm during his appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York City. The watch features an exclusive self-winding Jacob & Co. JCAA12 movement, with camouflage-inspired design elements that give it a sporty, uber-chic appeal. The chronograph is crafted from titanium with a green camo bezel, green camo dial, anthracite skeleton hands with white tips, and a smoked sapphire glass back with anti-reflective treatment. Bold and unmistakably Jacob & Co. in its uniqueness.

That brings us to Jon Hamm, who turned heads at the Season 2 premiere of “Your Friends & Neighbors” in New York City wearing the Jacob & Co. Bugatti Jean timepiece, valued at $360,000. The 18K white gold watch features a 46mm dial, manual winding, tourbillon and chronograph with 92 jewels — and was a perfect match for his suit, stature and general Jon Hamm-ness.

Speaking of timepieces: if you’re a watch aficionado in New York City on April 11, make a stop at Greenwich Street Jewelers for a special one-day Vintage Watch Pop-Up at its Tribeca location (93 Reade Street). The event is a collaboration with Elias Marte, a Dominican-American New Yorker and watch enthusiast who brings a design-forward eye to curation with a focus on distinctive case shapes, rare dial colors and under-the-radar brands offering value at approachable price points. (He’s also become something of a downtown legend for selling watches out of the tailgate of his ’90s Land Cruiser.) Guests can also explore Greenwich Street Jewelers’ in-house fine jewelry and Estate capsule collection.
It’s a wonderful example of the experiential shopping ethos that owners Jennifer Gandia and Christina Gandia Gambale have built so well.
