(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY — After a comprehensive national search, the Board of the Jewelers’ Security Alliance has announced that Jennifer Mulvihill, an attorney and cybersecurity expert, has been appointed President of JSA.

JSA Appoints New President

Jennifer Mulvihill

Mulvihill is a graduate of Columbia University and Cardozo Law School, and has extensive experience in investigations, non-profit organizations, insurance, corporate consulting and education. She has previously worked at such prestigious firms as AIG, and as a Senior Director at Kroll, a leading corporate investigation firm. She has extensive speaking and writing experience on the subject of cyber security, and has taught that subject at Hunter College and Columbia University.

Mulvihill has been appointed to succeed John Kennedy, who is retiring after 33 years as JSA President. Mulvihill will be the first woman to head JSA in 141 years, and is only the fifth full-time President of JSA since 1897.

Alan M. Zimmer, Chairperson of JSA, said, “JSA’s Search Committee has been working tirelessly this year to fill this important role, and the JSA Board is unanimous and enthusiastic that Jennifer is the right person to lead JSA in this time of rapid change. JSA has a remarkable crime team, and Jennifer has the talent and experience not only to help advance JSA’s traditional effectiveness, but to lead the organization in new paths as the jewelry industry faces a threatening array of growing high tech crime.”

The JSA Board also announced that Scott Guginsky, currently Vice President of JSA for the past 12 years, has been promoted to Executive Vice President. Zimmer said, “Scott is an irreplaceable part of JSA, and his extraordinary work has been central to JSA’s growth and success. With this new leadership team, JSA’s Board is confident that the organization has a bright future.”

Mulvihill said, ” I am deeply honored to step into this role and to lead JSA at such a pivotal moment for our industry. Inspired by the remarkable legacy of leadership and service that John Kennedy has built over his 33 years as President, I see JSA as a forward-thinking organization where our members’ security needs will continue to be met with excellence. My priority will be to enhance our commitment to safety and security while fostering innovation. We will tackle the evolving challenges we face and ensure JSA remains a trusted ally.”

Ready to Relocate? Wilkerson Makes Your Move Seamless

When Brockhaus Jewelry decided to leave their longtime West Main Street storefront for a standalone building elsewhere in Norman, Oklahoma, owners John Brockhaus and Brad Shipman faced a familiar challenge: how to efficiently reduce inventory before the big move. Their solution? Partnering with liquidation specialists Wilkerson for a second time. "We'd already experienced Wilkerson's professionalism during a previous sale," Shipman recalls. "But their approach to our relocation event truly impressed us. They strategically prioritized our existing pieces while tactfully introducing complementary merchandise as inventory levels decreased." The carefully orchestrated sale didn't just meet targets—it shattered them. Asked if they'd endorse Wilkerson to industry colleagues planning similar transitions—whether relocating, retiring, or refreshing their space—both partners were emphatic in their approval. "The entire process was remarkably straightforward," Shipman notes. "Wilkerson delivered a well-structured program, paired us with a knowledgeable advisor, and managed every detail flawlessly from concept to completion."
