The sighting: Singer (and daughter of Michael Jackson) Paris Jackson recently revealed her engagement to bandmate Justin Long. Okay, it actually happened several weeks ago, but we only just found a good photo of the ring. Let’s discuss.

The jewels: Jackson’s engagement ring is a fun one because we know a lot about it! It’s a 3-carat lab-grown portrait-cut diamond engagement ring designed by Jean Dousset, the great-great-grandson of Cartier founder Louis Cartier.

Jackson’s fiancé worked with Dousset to design the ring, which Page Six reports includes hidden references to the number 7, a number of significance to Jackson.

According to Page Six, Jean Dousset has similar pave settings listed on its website for $2,000 and high-quality 3-carat lab- grown emerald-cut diamonds available in the $6,000 range, which puts a complete Jean Dousset 3-carat lab-grown emerald-cut ring around $8,000.

It’s safe to assume that a rare portrait cut was more expensive than an emerald cut, and I also think it’s likely that anyone choosing a lab-grown portrait-cut diamond would want a high-quality stone, so I’m guessing that Jackson’s ring was at least in the $10,000 to $15,000 range.

The trends: There are so many trends here! First, we have lab-grown diamonds in general, and also the decision to choose lab-grown out of a desire to protect the environment. (The former is just a preference, while the latter opens a door for conversation).

Including hidden meanings in a piece is trendy at the moment. Modern jewelry lovers adore symbols with personal significance.

And finally, the portrait-cut diamond! This unusual diamond shape is more common than it used to be, but is it so prevalent that we can call it a trend? Perhaps not yet, but unusual diamond cuts are definitely more in-demand than they once were, especially elongated cuts and unconventional, antique-inspired stones like this one.

What do we think? Jackson is an outspoken environmentalist with a distinctive, edgy sense of fashion, and this lovely lab-grown ring with its unusual diamond feels just perfect for her!

Judgement: 14/10 for a cool engagement ring that feels like a perfect fit for its wearer.

Ready to Relocate? Wilkerson Makes Your Move Seamless

When Brockhaus Jewelry decided to leave their longtime West Main Street storefront for a standalone building elsewhere in Norman, Oklahoma, owners John Brockhaus and Brad Shipman faced a familiar challenge: how to efficiently reduce inventory before the big move. Their solution? Partnering with liquidation specialists Wilkerson for a second time. "We'd already experienced Wilkerson's professionalism during a previous sale," Shipman recalls. "But their approach to our relocation event truly impressed us. They strategically prioritized our existing pieces while tactfully introducing complementary merchandise as inventory levels decreased." The carefully orchestrated sale didn't just meet targets—it shattered them. Asked if they'd endorse Wilkerson to industry colleagues planning similar transitions—whether relocating, retiring, or refreshing their space—both partners were emphatic in their approval. "The entire process was remarkably straightforward," Shipman notes. "Wilkerson delivered a well-structured program, paired us with a knowledgeable advisor, and managed every detail flawlessly from concept to completion."
