The sighting: Iain Ross, a fan-favorite contestant on the most recent season of The Great British Bake Off, charmed viewers with his good humor and warm whimsey.

But eagle-eyed (or jewelry-obsessed) Bake Off fans noticed something else too: this short king of the baking tent has a penchant for food-themed jewelry.

The jewels: Iain Ross’s cooking jewelry of choice is huggie earrings with charms, and according to Wolf and Moon’s Instagram, Ross’s Bake Off jewels all came from their brand.

The styles he chose are mostly silver, some with pops of color, and primarily food themed. He rocks both a croissant shaped charm and a pretzel charm, which are sold separately as the Wolf and Moon Croissant hoops and Pretzel Hoops, or with one of each as Wolf and Moon’s Pastry Set No 1 (all listed online as $178 for two charms in silver, hoops not included).

The trends: Both whimsical jewelry and charms remain very popular and Ross’s habit of wearing jewelry that represents his favorite hobby while engaging in it on tv is a perfect example of why these trends are so successful.

The lure of expressing yourself by wearing symbols that show who you are inside is something that jewelry lovers of every age and demographic can embrace – especially when it’s a style as versatile as a charm, which can be worn on a necklace, bracelet, or huggie earring (as seen here).

What do we think? I love an on-theme moment, and Ross’s decision to wear different food-themed jewelry on The Great British Bake Off is one that I enthusiastically applaud.

Why would anyone NOT wear food themed jewelry while competing on Bake Off? It’s the only right way to do it.

Judgement: 19/10 for delightfully clever jewelry styling.

Honoring a Legacy: How Smith & Son Jewelers Exceeded Every Goal With Wilkerson

When Andrew Smith decided to close the Springfield, Massachusetts location of Smith & Son Jewelers, the decision came down to family. His father was retiring after 72 years in the business, and Andrew wanted to spend more time with his children and soon-to-arrive grandchildren. For this fourth-generation jeweler whose great-grandfather founded the company in 1918, closing the 107-year-old Springfield location required the right partner. Smith chose Wilkerson, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. "Everything they told me was 100% true," Smith says. "The ease and use of all their tools was wonderful." The consultants' knowledge and expertise proved invaluable. Smith and his father set their own financial goal, but Wilkerson proposed three more ambitious targets. "We thought we would never make it," Smith explains. "We were dead wrong. We hit our first goal, second goal and third goal. It was amazing." Smith's recommendation is emphatic: "I would never be able to do what they did by myself."
