Collar necklaces were popular this awards season, but few actresses chose sapphires as stunning or paired their bold necklaces with drop earrings and brooches.

The sighting: Italian actress and model Isabella Rossellini wore blue velvet to the 2025 Oscars, where she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. The gown was lovely, but her jewels were the stars of the show!

The jewels: Rossellini chose Bulgari for her Oscars jewels because her mother, celebrated actress Ingrid Bergman, loved the brand.

The homage wasn’t just a tribute to the brand in general: Rossellini’s vintage pearl and diamond earrings belonged to her mother.

According to Town and Country, “Bergman wore [the earrings] frequently throughout her career, including in the 1954 Italian film Viaggio directed by her then-husband (Isabella’s father) Roberto Rossellini. … Bergman wore the earrings to the Oscars in 1969 and 1975. In 1975, she was wearing them when she won Best Supporting Actress, the same category her daughter [was] nominated in.”

Rossellini also wore a diamond Bulgari brooch and an extraordinary Bulgari high jewelry necklace: the Etrurian Shapes necklace, which, according to Bulgari’s Instagram, is an elaborate collar of diamonds and sapphires centered by an 18.47 carat Sri Lankan sapphire.

The trends: Collar necklaces were popular this awards season, but not many actresses went for color as gorgeous as these sapphires or were bold enough to pair their statement necklaces with drop earrings and brooches.

What do we think? The family connection of both the brand and the earrings was beautiful and meaningful, especially since Bergman wore them to win the 1975 Oscar for the same category that Rossellini was nominated for in 2025.

The pearl earrings were beautiful. The sapphire necklace was stunning. But did they go together?

I wasn’t sure about the pairing when I first saw this look, but I’ve come around to it. They might not match, but something about pairing the two different gems felt incredibly glamorous in a casual Elizabeth Taylor way. It communicated that the wearer was so comfortable and confident with serious jewelry that she felt no need to be overly matching.

And either way: That brooch on the blue velvet gown was the perfect finishing touch.

Judgement: 72/100 for generational glamour at its finest.

Family Legacy, New Chapter: How Wilkerson Turns 89 Years of History Into Future Success

After 89 years of serving the Albany community, Harold Finkle Your Jeweler faced a pivotal decision. For third-generation owner Justin Finkle, the demanding hours of running a small business were taking precious time away from his young family. "After 23 years, I decided this was the time for me," Finkle explains. But closing a business with nearly nine decades of inventory and customer relationships isn't something easily managed alone. Wilkerson's comprehensive approach transformed this challenging transition into a remarkable success story. Their strategic planning handled everything from advertising and social media to inventory management and staffing — elements that would overwhelm most jewelers attempting to navigate a closing sale independently. The results speak volumes. "Wilkerson gave us three different tiers of potential goals," Finkle notes. "We've reached that third tier, that highest goal already, and we still have two weeks left of the sale." The partnership didn't just meet financial objectives—it exceeded them ahead of schedule.
