The sighting: Singer and actress Janelle Monáe stepped out in a bold, eye-catching ensemble while promoting her new movie, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery in London. The outfit was sleek, avant-garde, and topped with the perfect pair of earrings.

The jewels: Monáe is wearing the Home by Areeayl “Cling to Me” Angel Earrings. These wonderfully dramatic statement earrings are made of clay accented with gold leaf and supported by a brass stud. They’re a limited-edition style from the designer’s sold out “Icons of Style” collection with Macy’s.

Home by Areeayl’s website lists the “Cling to Me” Angel Earrings for $150, although the item is currently sold out.

The trends: We’ve seen a lot of celebs wearing avant-garde costume jewelry for major events recently. It’s usually either Schiaparelli or big name vintage, like Chanel or Dior, so I am delighted to see a smaller brand represented in this category for a change.

What do we think?

I never imagined an outfit involving these Home by Areeayl earrings that would make them look like an understated accessory, but that’s what’s happening here. The vibe of Monáe’s entire ensemble precisely matches the earrings in stylish intensity, creating a sleek and powerful seamless whole. The actress actually almost looks like the figure in the earrings, with her impeccable poise and perfectly tilted headwear.

These earrings are experiencing their Ultimate Fashion Destiny right here. They could not be worn in a better way.

Judgement: 17/10 for finding the perfect moment for an extraordinary pair of earrings.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
