The sighting: Lady Gaga performed in the Olympics opening ceremony wearing a fabulous profusion of feathers – it was great, but we’re more interested in her street style while stepping out in the city of lights. The singer was spotted in this chic outfit of an oversized blazer, black tights, and gold earrings while on her way to her hotel, and later when she delivered a surprise performance from the sunroof of a car.

The jewels: Lady Gaga is wearing the “She’s So Smooth” Mama Button Earrings by Melinda Maria. Each earring forms a hollow 32mm half-sphere in 18K yellow gold-plated brass, and the demi-fine style is currently listed on the brand’s website for $78.

The trends: If you had any doubt that the 1980’s statement stud had returned, look no further than this outfit. The look is even more powerful when paired with a corporate-chic blazer and no pants, as Gaga is wearing it here.

What do we think? Personally, I would have worn this outfit with pants. But I think that Lady Gaga, pantsless pioneer that she is, makes this look work for her.

I love that the gold earrings and red lip are the only color in this outfit, and that Lady Gaga styled her hair in a severely pulled back ponytail to give focus to the earrings. I also really enjoy how the extreme structure of the earrings contrasts with the baggy softness of the blazer’s tailoring.

Judgement: 12/10 for a très chic off-duty look in Paris

Retiring? Let Wilkerson Do the Heavy Lifting

Retirement can be a great part of life. As Nanji Singadia puts it, “I want to retire and enjoy my life. I’m 78 now and I just want to take a break.” That said, Nanji decided that the best way to move ahead was to contact the experts at Wilkerson. He chose them because he knew that closing a store is a heavy lift. To maximize sales and move on to the next, best chapter of his life, he called Wilkerson—but not before asking his industry friends for their opinion. He found that Wilkerson was the company most recommended and says their professionalism, experience and the homework they did before the launch all helped to make his going out of business sale a success. “Wilkerson were working on the sale a month it took place,” he says. “They did a great job.”
