The sighting: It’s September, which means that certain sporting events have resumed and therefore we all get to enjoy seeing what Taylor Swift wears in the stands while she supports her NFL player beau’s athletic career. Let’s take a look at her opening style salvo!
The jewels: Taylor Swift is wearing a full complement of jewelry and we’re going to talk about all of it.
Let’s start front and center with her necklace. This is a vintage 1970’s ancient bronze coin necklace in yellow gold from For Future Reference’s collection for Bergdorf Goodman, which is a collaboration between For Future Reference founder Randi Molofsky and LA-based estate jewelry dealer Excalibur. Swift must really love this piece, because she’s already worn it again while out and about.
On her ears, we have the EF Collection Diamond Mini Huggie & Prong Set Chain Stud (listed for $850) and the Three Stories Jewelry Long Love Explosion Charms ($590 each) on Diamond Huggie hoops ($425 each).
On her wrists, we have a Lizzie Mandler three row 18K yellow gold Cleo bracelet ($13,200), which the singer has also already worn several times. I think there’s a tennis bracelet on the singer’s other wrist, but it’s very hard to see.
Finally, we have a Retrouvai Cushion Ruby Impetus Interlocking Puzzle Ring in 14K yellow gold (similar piece listed online for $29,100) and a Howl Jewelry Ruby Cocoon ring in 18K yellow gold ($4,800).
For those who don’t have a calculator handy, that’s a jewelry outfit total of at least $48,967, counting only the known pieces that have online listings.
The trends: Ancient coin jewelry is trending, as are chunky gold rings and bracelets as a whole category. Safe to expect that a trend that Tayor Swift wears is not going away anytime soon.
What do we think? Taylor Swift’s personal jewelry style is honestly one of my favorite things about her. So many celebrities are out in these streets wearing the same few pieces by the same few designers that we see over and over again. The way that Swift (or her excellent stylist) mixes jewelry styles and eras, plays with texture and volume, and doesn’t hesitate to wear lesser-known designers brings me joy.
This is fun and stylish and true to the star’s style. I think it’s great.
Judgement: 13/10 for a great football season starting lineup.
