The sighting: Actress Teyana Taylor recently attended the 2026 Actor Awards and her interpretation of the dress code – which was “Reimagining Hollywood Glamour from the ’20s and ’30s” – led to a gorgeous ensemble with perfectly chosen jewelry that we simply must discuss.

The jewels: According to Tiffany & Co’s Instagram, Teyana Taylor wore “a striking suite” of nature-inspired designs in platinum and 18K yellow gold with diamonds.

The actress chose a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Leaves necklace with more than 47 carats of diamonds, accompanied by a matching set of Tiffany Three Leaves ear clips and a Bird on a Rock by Tiffany ring.

Taylor also brought another jewel to the red carpet: her young daughter, who expertly and adorably helped her mother arrange her dress’s train whenever she posed for photos.

The trends: Old Hollywood-style jewelry paired with modern gowns has been a red carpet trend recently, but I’m not sure if it counts here since that was the dress code of the event? Or perhaps the dress code itself is evidence of the trend’s power.

What do we think? The brilliance of this look is in the juxtaposition.

The jewels are objectively lovely and would be lovely in any situation. They’re iconic Schlumberger and resplendent with midcentury style beauty, a sparkling reference to the luxury of the past.

The gown is custom Thom Browne, modern and edgy, its many-textured fabrics and mesmerizing trompe-l’oeil design putting it on the cutting edge of fashion.

Both are stunning wearable artworks at the height of their craft, superior examples of the styles they represent. I would never, ever have expected the sleek, futuristic gown and elegant, vintage-feeling jewels to work together…but they do.

The subtle gradient of the gown’s colors, its varied materials, and gentle curves are somehow a perfect echo of the foliate Schlumberger designs. The look is so cohesive that it takes a moment to realize that it perfectly encapsulates the event’s theme by serving Old Hollywood and New Hollywood at the same time, seamlessly combined into one impossibly chic ensemble.

Judgement: 12/10 for a gorgeous blending of past and present style.
