The sighting: Actress Parker Posey, lately of The White Lotus, attended the 2025 Emmy Awards in a custom pale purple Valentino gown with matching jacket and some truly spectacular jewels.

Let’s take a look.

The jewels:

Parker Posey’s jewels are all by Sabyasachi. She’s wearing:

  • A pair of dramatic yellow gold statement earrings with large pear-shaped aquamarines topped by morganite, coral and diamonds.
  • A chunky yellow gold ring with a large blue sapphire surrounded by pearls and diamonds.
  • A spectacular necklace with a pear-shaped emerald drop weighing 45 carats, accented by aquamarines totaling 50 carats, and diamonds.

The trends: Sabyasachi is definitely hot right now – we’ve been seeing the brand on major players at important red carpets all year. Other trends here are tone-on-tone color contrasts (with the emerald and aqua) and warm versus cool color contrasts.

The Emmys showed us that we’re in for a shift in necklaces. The styles were shorter and more colorful than we’ve seen in recent months.

What do we think? I’ve been on a whole journey with my feelings about this look.

This jewelry is gorgeous. I would love it in any context! But does it work with Posey’s outfit?

The colors are a dream. I love the gown’s gentle purple with the sapphire as well as the emerald, aquamarine, morganite and coral. The ring is a no-brainer, but it stresses me out a bit that the necklace is fighting with the ties of her jacket for attention. And why are those spectacular earrings so hidden in her hair?

Does the casual styling make it all feel even more opulent, or is it sloppy?

I couldn’t decide, so I posted this look on my Instagram story with a poll and received the answer in a DM from someone who said, “This wouldn’t work on anyone else, but she’s pulling it off.”

That’s the key. This wouldn’t work on someone with a different vibe, but on Posey, it’s glorious. It’s giving kooky, rich, glamorous and so confident that she doesn’t think anything of pieces this extraordinary being only partly visible.

Judgement: 17/10 for a look that I spent an entire day thinking about.
