Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry Breaks Ground on Freestanding Location at Lakeside Shopping Center

(PRESS RELEASE) METAIRIE, LA — Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry announces the ground breaking of a 10,000 SF freestanding store at Lakeside Shopping Center. The new storefront, located on Causeway Boulevard in front of Dillard’s Department Store, will more than double the size of the current location. With this expansion, the store will have two entrances, one entrance will offer a selection of fine jewelry and the other entrance will focus on timepieces.

“This year will mark our company’s 25th year in business at Lakeside Shopping Center, and we thank Jefferson Parish and the New Orleans Metro Area for being a part of that success. This community’s support over the last 25 years has made it possible for us to relocate and build a freestanding location on Causeway Boulevard set to open Fall of 2022,” said Chad Berg, co-owner and President of Lee Michaels Fine Jewelry.

The new store will offer an exceptional variety of swiss timepieces, including a luxurious Rolex corner, and Tudor and Tag Heuer environments. Offering the finest jewelry designers is a hallmark for Lee Michaels and the new location will feature David Yurman, Roberto Coin, and Mikimoto shop-in-shops. An expanded bridal selection will also be included at the new location on Causeway Boulevard.

“Lee Michaels has been a wonderful partner for the past 25 years. We are thrilled to see this family-owned jewelry store expand to a freestanding location on Causeway Boulevard. Re-positioning the store provides the Lee Michaels brand the opportunity to further enhance its market presence and add new merchandise lines. We are pleased with the impressive statement Lee Michaels will make at this prominent location at Lakeside Shopping Center.” – Jeffrey Feil, Chief Executive Officer of The Feil Organization.

“Our philosophy of providing each Lee Michaels’ customer with extraordinary jewelry and service will continue.  Personal service has been the cornerstone of our growth and the foundation we build upon.  This store expansion will be another opportunity to introduce more people in the New Orleans region to that level of quality and service for which Lee Michaels is known,” Berg says.  The firm is a member of the American Gem Society, an elite, internationally recognized organization of jewelers and manufacturers who adhere to the highest standards of ethical conduct in professional expertise, merchandising and advertising.

Lee Michaels is now in the second generation of ownership and management, including Ryan, Scott, and Chad Berg. “I couldn’t be prouder to work with my brothers as we continue to grow our company and launch our first free standing location in New Orleans, a city that is so special to our family.” said Chad Berg.

“We are constantly looking to innovate and grow. We have enjoyed our Lakeside location for the last 25 years, but it is time to enhance our customer experience and the environment in which they shop. We are excited not only for our customers to see the new store, but also for our sales associates who are our greatest asset. This is just as exciting for many of them who have been with us for 20 plus years.” said Lee Michael Berg, founder and chairman of the board.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
