Leviev Diamonds Appoints New Managing Director, Outlines Growth Roadmap

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — Leviev, a global leader in exceptional diamonds and high jewelry, is embarking on a bold new chapter with the appointment of Giovanni Mattera-Vairo as Managing Director. Second-generation diamantaires Chagit Leviev (President and CEO, Leviev Group USA) and Greg Sofiev (CEO and Creative Director, Leviev Diamonds) tapped the seasoned luxury leader as part of the executives’ broader vision to elevate the brand’s presence and accelerate the storied company’s retail expansion.

Mattera-Vairo played a key role in the international growth of prestigious brands including de Grisogono and Versace Precious Items, and his expertise in business development, retail growth, and branding will be instrumental as the Leviev executives look to continue fueling the company’s strategic transformation already begun under the diamond power couple’s leadership.

According to Chagit Leviev, “Looking ahead, Leviev plans to unveil a new brand campaign, introduce a network of exclusive shop-in-shops, and expand its presence in key luxury markets. Giovanni Mattera-Vairo brings a deep understanding of the world of luxury and a shared passion for Leviev’s values—exclusivity, exceptional craftsmanship, and an intimate client experience. His support will be instrumental as we further elevate Leviev’s presence worldwide and introduce our brand to a new generation of jewelry aficionados.”

Chagit Leviev and Greg Sofiev’s vision to expand the brand’s finished jewelry collections and retail presence is already taking shape. The leaders spearheaded the late 2024 opening of the Leviev Fifth Avenue retail showroom in New York City, an inviting and sophisticated space designed to provide an intimate, high-touch experience for clients.

“The luxury landscape is evolving, and today’s clients seek more than just exceptional quality—they want a personal connection,” said Greg Sofiev. “Leviev’s bespoke jewelry services have been a resounding success, and we’re expanding this offering to make custom design and direct sales a cornerstone of our business.”

The brand also recently dressed key figures at the 2025 presidential inauguration balls, and Leviev high jewelry pieces also graced the runway at 2024 F/W New York Fashion Week—including an exclusive co-designed Leviev x Bach Mai diamond necklace. These strategic collaborations and innovative marketing campaigns are already expanding Leviev’s reach and engagement with a new generation of diamond jewelry buyers.

Since 1977, Leviev has redefined the diamond industry by pioneering a fully integrated model—overseeing every stage from sourcing to design. This unparalleled level of quality control and transparency has positioned Leviev as the foremost name in natural diamond jewelry and exceptional diamonds of every conceivable cut, color, and size.

The extraordinary level of quality and craftsmanship associated with the Leviev name has led the brand’s pieces to command record hammer prices at auction for decades. Today, the high jewelry house remains widely viewed as a world leader in diamond jewelry and natural diamonds. Chagit Leviev and Greg Sofiev look to maintain and build on this legacy as they write the company’s next chapter – with plans to expand operations, reveal a new brand campaign, and roll out the first of the brand’s network of Leviev brand shop-in-shops.

Leviev invites clients to explore its world of exceptional diamond fine jewelry at its new Manhattan showroom at 590 Fifth Avenue, 19th Floor, open Monday through Friday, or online at leviev.com.

Ready to Relocate? Wilkerson Makes Your Move Seamless

When Brockhaus Jewelry decided to leave their longtime West Main Street storefront for a standalone building elsewhere in Norman, Oklahoma, owners John Brockhaus and Brad Shipman faced a familiar challenge: how to efficiently reduce inventory before the big move. Their solution? Partnering with liquidation specialists Wilkerson for a second time. "We'd already experienced Wilkerson's professionalism during a previous sale," Shipman recalls. "But their approach to our relocation event truly impressed us. They strategically prioritized our existing pieces while tactfully introducing complementary merchandise as inventory levels decreased." The carefully orchestrated sale didn't just meet targets—it shattered them. Asked if they'd endorse Wilkerson to industry colleagues planning similar transitions—whether relocating, retiring, or refreshing their space—both partners were emphatic in their approval. "The entire process was remarkably straightforward," Shipman notes. "Wilkerson delivered a well-structured program, paired us with a knowledgeable advisor, and managed every detail flawlessly from concept to completion."
