WHEN IN ROME … why not take a page out of history and look like like a Roman statue?
At least, that’s the vibe Lily Collins projected at the premiere for Emily In Paris Season 4 Part 2. The entire cast was there to celebrate their adventure to Rome, which launches on Netflix on Sept. 12.
I can’t wait to see all of the jewels and fashion when they traipse around Italy.
But lets get back to the premiere, to which Collins wore a Schiaparelli column gown with plunging necklace and low back in a rich golden color with gold metal straps and a jewelry moment to aspire to when piling it on. She sported multiples of gold metal bangles that climbed up her arm, which was actually my favorite part of her look. But then, of course, jewelry is always my passion and obsession.
The were an accessory rather than real jewels, but in a time when cuffs and bangles are witnessing a return as the jewel to own for holiday into spring/summer 2024/25, these provide inspiration for how to wear a bunch of the same or similar bangles, giving any outfit a rich, luxurious look. You can also achieve the look with different versions and widths of bangles, some yellow gold, some with diamond accents, and with different textural interest.
And you don’t have to wear a gown. This type of styling (okay maybe a little less of an arsenal or armful will do) can be worn over a tight sleeve dress or knit top, with a white shirt with the sleeves rolled up or when we get to the warmer months, with a T-shirt or tank or sleeveless dress.
It is an aspirational look for retailers to inspire customers to grow their own stack and for consumers to think about how they can achieve their own Roman goddess look.
