You’ve got a customer who’s overly focused on the weight of a diamond ? overlooking other important things like color, clarity, cut and (especially) their budget. You say to them:

?WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IF SOMEBODY TOLD YOU THEY BOUGHT A ONE-TON CAR. YOU’D SAY ‘SO?’?

Why? It’s a good way to show customers how fixating on weights ? e.g. those magic 1.0- and 2.0-carat levels ? can often lead them to make the wrong purchase. The ridiculous analogy drives home the point that a beautiful luxury item is still beautiful ? no matter what it weighs.
