LUPITA NYONG’O HAS been a trendsetting actress for jewelry since she walked the red carpet in Fred Leighton’s diamond headband and totem pinky ring at the Academy Awards in 2014 when she was the recipient of the Oscar for 12 Years a Slave. Graceful and elegant, she became a fashion figure for young women to emulate. She also turned up in some other stunning gowns and Fred Leighton jewelry that year and has continued to evolve her look with her stylists since then.

For the 2022 Gotham Awards, Nyong’o shone in De Beers high jewelry from her lobes to her fingers. However many carats she was wearing — and she was wearing a lot — she pulled it off with an unstudied nonchalance. This allowed her to look glamorous without ever being outshone by the megawattage bling.

I was particularly fond of the short and long layers in necklaces. The pieces from the Alchemist of Light and other collections also combined seamlessly. The Alchemist of Light collar necklace of 41.32 TCW encircled her neck and lit up her face while the De Beers bezel set necklace and clip of 16.8 total carat weight of diamond dipped down to her decolletage, a perfect length for her deep V- gown. She wore smaller Alchemist of Light diamond drop earrings that complemented the necklaces and a De Beers Adonis Rose Pear Ring of 3.52 total carat weight that was the finishing touch.

She was her own ray of light, and the beauty of the diamond jewels was an accent to her radiance.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
