(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY — Jocalio, a data-driven ecosystem for independent jewelers that pairs fine jewelry designs with proven digital marketing, has added Michael Schechter to their leadership team as Vice President of Digital Services. In this newly created role, Schechter will help enhance existing Jocalio offerings while exploring new initiatives that support independent fine jewelry retailers in growing their businesses during a time of unprecedented change.

Michael Schechter
“Michael brings twenty-five years of expertise getting results through digital initiatives, customized products, and omni-channel marketing to Jocalio. His experience will be instrumental as we continue to build scalable, future-ready solutions for independent jewelers,” said Val Katayev, CEO of Jocalio. “We’re thrilled to welcome him to our team.”
As a third-generation jeweler, Michael helped his family business, Honora, thrive online as the web emerged as a priority for jewelers. Following Honora’s acquisition by the Berkshire Hathaway-owned Richline Group in 2013, Schechter drove omni-channel sales growth for a diverse range of fine jewelry retailers across the United States.
When asked about his new role, Schechter shared that, “Most outside entrepreneurs look at our industry and attempt to disrupt it, usually unsuccessfully. Jocalio takes the opposite approach. Val and team are empowering existing independent jewelers to succeed by reimagining how we align emerging digital possibilities with traditional best practices. I’m excited to be a part of this mission.”
Schechter is a GIA Graduate Gemologist and long-standing member of the 24 Karat Club. His proven track record will play a vital role in shaping Jocalio’s digital evolution.
Closing With Confidence: How Bailey's Fine Jewelry Achieved Outstanding Results With Wilkerson
When Trey Bailey, President and CEO of Bailey's Fine Jewelry, decided to close the Crabtree location in Raleigh, North Carolina after 15 years, he knew the decision needed to be handled with intention and professionalism. The goal was clear: exit the location while maintaining financial strength and honoring the store's legacy.
Having worked with Wilkerson successfully in the past, Bailey understood the value of their comprehensive approach. "They understood both the emotional and financial sides of the store closing sale," Trey explains. "Their reputation for professionalism, results and care made it a very easy decision."
The results exceeded expectations. Wilkerson helped Bailey's sell through significant inventory while maintaining the dignity of the closing process. "They don't just run a sale, they help close a chapter in the best way possible," Bailey says, strongly recommending Wilkerson to any jeweler facing a similar transition.
