Mining Company Sells ‘Exceptional Pink’ Gem for $15 Million

Petra Diamonds – which is uniquely headquartered on the island of Jersey between England and France – sold an “exceptional pink” diamond for $15 million last week, Mining.com reports. The article says that the gem weighs 32.33 carats and was discovered from the company’s Williamson mine in Tanzania. Golden Yellow Diamonds purchased it on behalf of M.A. Anavi Diamond Group, which specializes in large and unique color diamonds. The terms of the transaction include Petra receiving 10 percent of the added value that comes from the polished proceeds.
