(PRESS RELEASE) The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers took an exciting leap under the visionary leadership of the Chair of Education, Deborah J. Finleon, GIA GG, Certified Master Appraiser and Chair of Education. NAJA announces the launch of a new landing page for the NAJA Appraisal Studies Course.

This new gathering place allows NAJA education to post announcements, let students know when updates to the course have been made, and to easily share items of interest with all students. Some of the new features include:

  • A clear outline of the NAJAeducation offerings, with one-click access to enrollment
  • Updates and access to our Continuing Education offerings, as they become available
  • A blog with articles covering everything from USPAP updates to ways to make your appraisal reports better
  • Information about NAJA membership and a link to the main NAJA site
  • Access to your course portal

The new access portal located at www.naja-asc.com will assist the appraisal study students in navigating their professionalism. “Although the existing website provides the actual link to the Appraisal Studies Course material, we wanted to offer students more than just access. Now we are able to deliver even more timely updates, share relevant news and articles, and – going forward – link to continuing education to assist the appraiser in providing excellent products and service,” said Finleon.

The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers is the largest membership association specializing exclusive in gem and jewelry appraising and related appraisal issues. NAJA offers education and networking opportunities with knowledgeable appraisal professionals. For further information and interviews, please contact Gail Brett Levine, GIA GG, executive director.

You Wouldn’t Cut Your Own Hair. Why Run Your Own Retirement Sale?

After being in business for over a quarter of a century, Wayne Reid, owner of Wayne Jewelers in Wayne, Pennsylvania, decided it was time for a little “me time.” He says, “I’ve reached a point in my life where it’s time to slow down, enjoy a lot of things outside of the jewelry industry. It just seemed to be the right time.” He chose Wilkerson to handle his retirement sale because of their reputation and results. With financial goals exceeded, Reid says he made the right choice selecting Wilkerson to handle the sale. “They made every effort to push our jewelry to the forefront of the showcases,” he says, lauding Wilkerson for their finesse and expertise. Would he recommend them to other jewelers who want to make room for new merchandise, expand their business or like him, decide to call it a day? Absolutely he says, equating trying to do this kind of sale with cutting your own hair. “The results are going to happen but not as well as if you have a professional like Wilkerson do the job for you.”
