From Emily P. Wheeler to Nikos Koulis, Watts turns on the glamour.

NAOMI WATTS HAS been in the news recently due to her role in Netflix’s The Watcher and her appearances on the red carpet. The Australian actress can carry off all types of jewelry, including the drop dead glamour of Buccellati jewelry, particularly the diamond necklace at the 2022 Emmys. Now we are feeling her large gemstone statement earrings by independent designer Emily P. Wheeler at the 29th Annual Elle Women In Hollywood gala. They were a dramatic complement to her off white tailored suit. The earrings featured irregularly shaped opals as the main stone with pink gemstones at the top and a diamond X that surrounded the different stones. They were edgy and daring in Wheeler’s experiment with color and shape and were appealingly bold.

Watts also appeared in InStyle magazine in Nikos Koulis’ fringe diamond earrings, which were artfully styled by @jeanannwilliams and photographed by @josefinasantos. These were another pair of killer statement earrings by uber-talented Greek designer Koulis,  who has provided many a jewel for different red carpet events and even more magazine covers and layouts.

And while I prefer smaller earrings, I am thrilled that the ear party of smaller mixed and matched and mismatched earrings and piercing parties has died down in favor of bigger, gutsier statement styles and the powerful women who can pull them off.

When There’s No Succession Plan, Call Wilkerson

Bob Wesley, owner of Robert C. Wesley Jewelers in Scottsdale, Ariz., was a third-generation jeweler. When it was time to enjoy life on the other side of the counter, he weighed his options. His lease was nearing renewal time and with no succession plan, he decided it was time to call Wilkerson. There was plenty of inventory to sell and at first, says Wesley, he thought he might try to manage a sale himself. But he’s glad he didn’t. “There’s no way I could have done this as well as Wilkerson,” he says. Wilkerson took responsibility for the entire event, with every detail — from advertising to accounting — done, dusted and managed by the Wilkerson team. “It’s the complete package,” he says of the Wilkerson method of helping jewelers to easily go on to the next phase of their lives. “There’s no way any retailer can duplicate what they’ve done.”
