(PRESS RELEASE) VICENZA, ITALY – Work is in full flow in preparation for one of the jewelry world’s most highly anticipated annual events: Vicenzaoro September, the international jewelry show, organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), which covers the entire gold-jewelry supply chain and is scheduled to take place in one of the most important moments of the year for winter festivity orders.

A series of new entries are on the cards for the end-of-summer edition, starting with the new dates. This year the show will, in fact, be held two weeks earlier, from 7th to 11th September, to avoid overlapping with international fashion dates, thus making it easier for operators from both of these increasingly more connected sectors to attend.

Also new, even if it has been in Vicenzaoro’s DNA for some time, is the show’s transversal theme: ‘Spreading Sustainability’. This will be developed at the VISIO:NEXT SUMMIT, the opening round table of international experts, as well as during programmed events throughout the days of the Show.

Vicenzaoro thus confirms its role as an open stage for the gold and jewelry sector where the most relevant topics for the entire industry’s evolution are discussed, examined and communicated. The dissemination of practices to guarantee sustainability is one of the sector’s top priorities that emerge from constant dialogue between the supply chain’s operators, their category associations and Italian Exhibition Group which, with Vicenzaoro, plays a key role in the development of the entire industry.

Designed to leave a mark on the coming show as well as those of the future, is the tribute that will be paid to the city of Palladio, its beauty and the leading role it plays in the artistic-cultural world. A tribute which will characterize both the show and VIOFF, VICENZAORO’s off-show event of which IEG is the official partner.

After the new entries, there are, of course, “precious” confirmations: in the districts of the now habitual exhibition layout which facilitates supply and demand matching to a maximum – ICON, LOOK, CREATION, ESSENCE, EXPRESSION, EVOLUTION –, the much-awaited events that have now become indispensable to the show are to be repeated.

Jewelry trends have always played an extremely central role at Vicenzaoro. In fact, “The Design Room”, the exhibition concept devoted to high range designers and located inside the ICON community, will be back.

A unique and exclusive experimentation and creativity area where an accurate selection of 12 independent designers from all over the world present their own creations and influence market trends.

And the subject of market trends is just what one of the Vicenza show’s most popular events deals with: the presentation of TrendBook 2021+ at the seminar organized by TRENDVISION Jewelry + Forecasting, the world’s first independent research centre specialized in forecasting jewelry trends and consumer attitudes.

Visibility given to the watch world will also be increased and, in the wake of its considerable success at the last autumn edition, “The Watch Room” will return and be positioned in the central colonnade of the LOOK district hall dedicated to fashion jewelry. A capsule of 12 independent brands, accurately selected to create interesting and original proposals for both physical and virtual jewelry showcases during the Christmas festivities.

Technology, which has also been part of Vicenzaoro September since last year with T.EVOLUTION, a project dedicated to companies specializing in the design, production and sale of small, high-tech machinery and tools for the jewelry sector, will once again be present and further enriched.

As at the previous edition, T.EVOLUTION will have an exhibition and training format with the participation of leading technical partners to coordinate a program of educational interventions in collaboration with attending companies.

During the 5 days of the show, visitors at VICENZAORO will, in fact, be offered a full program of events, congresses and seminars on highly interesting and topical subjects for the entire sector which will be revealed over the coming months.

When There’s No Succession Plan, Call Wilkerson

Bob Wesley, owner of Robert C. Wesley Jewelers in Scottsdale, Ariz., was a third-generation jeweler. When it was time to enjoy life on the other side of the counter, he weighed his options. His lease was nearing renewal time and with no succession plan, he decided it was time to call Wilkerson. There was plenty of inventory to sell and at first, says Wesley, he thought he might try to manage a sale himself. But he’s glad he didn’t. “There’s no way I could have done this as well as Wilkerson,” he says. Wilkerson took responsibility for the entire event, with every detail — from advertising to accounting — done, dusted and managed by the Wilkerson team. “It’s the complete package,” he says of the Wilkerson method of helping jewelers to easily go on to the next phase of their lives. “There’s no way any retailer can duplicate what they’ve done.”
