NICOLE KIDMAN HAS been on trend, or sometimes setting trends, since the late 1990s. INSTORE and other publications have included her in too many “best of” red carpet jewelry compilations to count. For example, she appeared at the 2008 Oscars in L’Wren Scott’s necklace of nearly 1,400 carats of rough and polished diamonds when roughs were hitting peak popularity. She wore antique pieces in advance of antique/vintage jewelry becoming a major direction coming from awards season. And she has worn both established and independent designers, displaying her ability to look amazing in a wide range of styles.

Kidman’s appearance at the Los Angeles premiere of Netflix’s A Family Affair was no exception. She wore a nude color Gucci gown with one of the season’s biggest trends for holiday and beyond: a choker. It was a Gucci gold tone choker on a ribbon that worked effortlessly with the strapless bodice of the gown. She also wore fingers full of rings. There is mixed information on which designers’ rings they were, so it’s best to just say that along with a bracelet or two on one wrist, they added just enough sparkle without overdoing it with such a streamlined fitted dress and bold necklace.

Chokers, collars and torques have become one of the hot trends of holiday 2024 continuing into spring 2025. They range from everyday wearable to mega statement pieces.

Ready to Relocate? Wilkerson Makes Your Move Seamless

When Brockhaus Jewelry decided to leave their longtime West Main Street storefront for a standalone building elsewhere in Norman, Oklahoma, owners John Brockhaus and Brad Shipman faced a familiar challenge: how to efficiently reduce inventory before the big move. Their solution? Partnering with liquidation specialists Wilkerson for a second time. "We'd already experienced Wilkerson's professionalism during a previous sale," Shipman recalls. "But their approach to our relocation event truly impressed us. They strategically prioritized our existing pieces while tactfully introducing complementary merchandise as inventory levels decreased." The carefully orchestrated sale didn't just meet targets—it shattered them. Asked if they'd endorse Wilkerson to industry colleagues planning similar transitions—whether relocating, retiring, or refreshing their space—both partners were emphatic in their approval. "The entire process was remarkably straightforward," Shipman notes. "Wilkerson delivered a well-structured program, paired us with a knowledgeable advisor, and managed every detail flawlessly from concept to completion."
