It joins classic metals with colorful stones.
(Press Release) DENVER, CO — Bright gemstones and gleaming metals combine to set a beautiful stage for the presentation of the new Mekong Collection by from designer Nina Nguyen.
Born from the inspiration of the famous Mekong River, a richly bio-diverse river system that flows through five countries from the Tibetan Plateau to the Mekong Delta in southern Vietnam, this collection takes Nguyen’s love of bold yet feminine designs and elevates otherwise simple jewelry accessories to wearable art.
The Mekong Collection continues the successful use of crosshatch patterns and hand-hammered techniques that the designer introduced in 2016. Attention to details, such as hand-polished satin finishes and classic stone shapes and colors combine to reflect the soul of Nina Nguyen Designs. The intricate, hand-forged, fastened gold bangles are back as well.
A peek at the Mekong Collection reveals a captivating selection of gemstones, including lapis, chrysoprase, multi-colored sapphires, rutilated black quartz, moonstone and diamonds set against solid sterling silver or 18-karat gold designs featuring a luxurious brushed or hand-polished satin finish or textured crosshatch patterns.
East-west set marquise gemstones make their debut in the lineup of accessories, including earrings, necklaces and wrap bracelets. The fastened, hand-forged bangles can be worn individually or stacked together.
Nguyen said, “After 10 years of designing and watching styles change, the Mekong collection is the result of my hands on experience and ability to identify trends. I considered every aspect of the design – from shape to color to texture and finish. The Mekong Collection achieves the bold yet feminine appeal that my designs are known for.”
