NRF Releases List of America’s Fastest-Growing Retailers

The National Retail Federation has released its 2021 “Hot 25 Retailers” list, which ranks the nation’s fastest-growing retailers by domestic sales.

While 2020 was a tough year in brick and mortar for obvious reasons, it afforded new opportunities for e-commerce retailers. Perhaps, then, it’s no surprise that Wine.com topped the list with 99.4 percent U.S. sales growth as Americans made the best of nationwide lockdowns.

Aside from adult-beverage purveyors, home-improvement chains also flourished amid the pandemic. Tractor Supply Co., Lowe’s and Home Depot placed at Nos. 12, 15 and 18, respectively.

The rankings were determined by increases in domestic sales between 2019 and 2020. All retail companies with domestic sales in excess of $300 million were eligible for the list.

Here are the top 10, with sales growth from 2019 to 2020 in parentheses:

  1. Wine.com (99.4%)
  2. Overstock.com (74.7%)
  3. Boohoo Group plc (60%)
  4. Wayfair (54.6%)
  5. 1-800-Flowers.com (50.8%)
  6. Boxed.com (47%)
  7. Amazon.com (33.7%)
  8. Schwarz Group (31.8%)
  9. EG Group (30.6%)
  10. Ollie’s Bargain Outlet (28.4%)

Family Legacy, New Chapter: How Wilkerson Turns 89 Years of History Into Future Success

After 89 years of serving the Albany community, Harold Finkle Your Jeweler faced a pivotal decision. For third-generation owner Justin Finkle, the demanding hours of running a small business were taking precious time away from his young family. "After 23 years, I decided this was the time for me," Finkle explains. But closing a business with nearly nine decades of inventory and customer relationships isn't something easily managed alone. Wilkerson's comprehensive approach transformed this challenging transition into a remarkable success story. Their strategic planning handled everything from advertising and social media to inventory management and staffing — elements that would overwhelm most jewelers attempting to navigate a closing sale independently. The results speak volumes. "Wilkerson gave us three different tiers of potential goals," Finkle notes. "We've reached that third tier, that highest goal already, and we still have two weeks left of the sale." The partnership didn't just meet financial objectives—it exceeded them ahead of schedule.
