Omar Mateen purchased $9,000 in jewelry from Kay Jewelers a few days before he shot and killed 49 people at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando, ABC News reports. According to the news outlet, he purchased the jewelry on June 6 at a Kay location near the gun shop where he attempted to buy body armor. Parent company Signet Jewelers wouldn’t confirm the purchase, but said in a statement that it is “working closely with authorities.”
