The firms have a long business relationship.

FAIRFIELD, OH — Quality Gold has purchased Luxury Giftware by Jere LLC, a wholesale supplier to national and international retail establishments that specialize in fine giftware, jewelry and collectibles.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Based in Marietta, GA, Luxury Giftware by Jere is known for its heirloom-quality jewelry boxes and extensive assortment of bejeweled trinket boxes, as well as Damascus steel blade knives featured within its Luxury Knives collection.

Michael Langhammer, CEO of Quality Gold, said, “Jere has a loyal retailer base that benefits from his assortment of high quality giftware. I have a tremendous amount of respect for the business Jere has built. He has kept current with trends in the gift industry and he has adjusted his line to meet the needs of his customers. He listens to his customers and develops product they want to display in their stores.”

Jason Langhammer, chief operating officer of Quality Gold, said, “My father originally did business with Jere Wright and Quality Gold has had a long business relationship with his company. When Jere approached us about selling his business, it simply made sense for all of us to complete this deal.”

Quality Gold will operate Luxury Giftware by Jere as a brand presented by Quality Gold. All merchandise will begin invoicing and shipping from Quality Gold in Fairfield, OH, on May 10. During the period of May 2-9, the business operations will be transferred from Georgia to Ohio and no orders will ship. Any orders placed at that time will be fulfilled and invoiced starting on May 10 from Ohio.

Jere Wright, founder and president of Luxury Giftware by Jere, will join Quality Gold. He will continue in a sales and product development role, and he will be part of the transition team that leads the company in the expansion and introduction of designs for Luxury Giftware in the coming year.

Wright said, “Quality Gold is the perfect home for the company I’ve worked diligently to build over the last 25 years. I love the people at Quality Gold and look forward to being part of their team. I am excited to continue developing and introducing great merchandise, which turns fast and earns retailers a nice profit. With them taking over the day to day shipping and administrative functions, I can concentrate in product development and in working with customers. These are two of my favorite passions and Quality Gold will allow me to concentrate my time in both areas. I am excited about this change.”

Thinking of Retirement? This Jeweler Went for the Company That Shares His Values

Richard Frank of Goldstein’s Jewelry in Mobile, Ala., had worked in his family’s store since he was 13-years old. As its owner, he was proud to be at the helm of Mobile’s oldest jewelry store, an AGS, IJO and RJO member business. But there comes a time in every jeweler’s life when a decision must be made regarding the future. And for Frank, that meant turning the store over to new owners. He chose Wilkerson to handle the sale, a decision, he says, made a long time ago. “Their reputation is such that all the things we value are what they value,” he says. And the results surpassed Frank’s own expectations. Would he recommend Wilkerson for other jewelers who are considering a going-out-of-business or retirement sale? “If you’re contemplating a sale to maximize the return on your business, there is no one else in the industry that I could even think of recommending.”
