(PRESS RELEASE) If you’re a skilled jeweler — and you suspect you might be the best there is — INSTORE and MJSA would like to invite you to apply as a contestant for this year’s Bench Pressure Challenge at The INSTORE Show.

Designed in partnership with MJSA, the Bench Pressure Challenge includes a timed challenge, which will take place on-site at The INSTORE Show on Monday, August 12. Competitors will have just three hours to assemble, set, and finish a piece of jewelry, using materials given out at the beginning of the contest. Show attendees will be able to watch the contestants on monitors as they work to complete the task, and a panel of retail store owners will choose the victor.

Last year’s winner of the Timed Challenge was Jimmy Butts of Sissy’s Log Cabin in Pine Bluff, AR.

Please contact Rich Youmans at rich.youmans@mjsa.org and tell him why you think you’ve got what it takes to compete in the Bench Pressure Challenge!

For those interested in attending The INSTORE Show in Rosemont, IL, Aug. 11-12, register for your free show badge at theinstoreshow.com.

This Year’s Bench Pressure Challenge is Sponsored by: Master Casting & Cad and Rio Grande.

Retiring? Let Wilkerson Do the Heavy Lifting

Retirement can be a great part of life. As Nanji Singadia puts it, “I want to retire and enjoy my life. I’m 78 now and I just want to take a break.” That said, Nanji decided that the best way to move ahead was to contact the experts at Wilkerson. He chose them because he knew that closing a store is a heavy lift. To maximize sales and move on to the next, best chapter of his life, he called Wilkerson—but not before asking his industry friends for their opinion. He found that Wilkerson was the company most recommended and says their professionalism, experience and the homework they did before the launch all helped to make his going out of business sale a success. “Wilkerson were working on the sale a month it took place,” he says. “They did a great job.”
