She is the queen of layering, yet she also allows a special piece to stand out.

RIRI IS MY idol when it comes to layering. The trendsetting and talented performer can stack it on while still allowing herself to shine. Her stylist might be the one to credit for the choices of jewelry, but it’s the way Rihanna carries herself that allows her to pull off piling it on. Mostly we see her layering around her neck, doubling up on chokers that range from delicate to chunky and then layering in longer pendants and even a scarf. Lately we have been seeing more around her wrist. In this photo, she combines her metals and styles of bracelets and wears them on the same wrist as her watch. Take some tips.

But what is most appealing about this look is how she allows Briony Raymond’s estate large diamond signet ring to stand out on her hand. She’s wearing no other rings on that hand, and not only does the yellow gold ring with a mix of vintage cut diamonds get its place in the spotlight, but it also balances out the rest of her designer-clad fashion, mixing of metals and styles on her neck and wrist. Rihanna wears it on her middle finger, where I love signet rings to be worn. There is something strong and sensual about wearing a chunky ring on that finger. But if RiRi were wearing it on her pinky or her pointer, I’d still feel that she can take a trend and make it her own.

Signets in all different iterations have been trending now for years, with no sign of slowing down. This one, with a major diamond center look, just offers more of an individualized feeling. I suspect that after seeing this ring on this jewelry enthusiast, designers will take a cue and we will see more of this style in the months to come.

Retiring? Let Wilkerson Do the Heavy Lifting

Retirement can be a great part of life. As Nanji Singadia puts it, “I want to retire and enjoy my life. I’m 78 now and I just want to take a break.” That said, Nanji decided that the best way to move ahead was to contact the experts at Wilkerson. He chose them because he knew that closing a store is a heavy lift. To maximize sales and move on to the next, best chapter of his life, he called Wilkerson—but not before asking his industry friends for their opinion. He found that Wilkerson was the company most recommended and says their professionalism, experience and the homework they did before the launch all helped to make his going out of business sale a success. “Wilkerson were working on the sale a month it took place,” he says. “They did a great job.”
