RIHANNA CHANGES UP her look consistently, and every time she does, it cements her role as trend-setter and one of the most iconic and stylish celebrities, entrepreneurs and singer/songwriters. At her Los Angeles launch of Fenty Hair, which will include a line of hair products for a variety of hair types, she set off fireworks with her all-scarlet fashion and jewelry. Fenty Hair is another addition to her successful Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin lines. One wonders if there is anything Riri can’t do.
For the purposes of this piece, let’s focus on her ability to transform into different looks and turn heads while doing it. Before we get to the jewelry, let’s mention her head of short, honey brown curls and the Instagram photo in which she wore a straight pixie style, which was perfect for the event and the launch of Fenty hair. Now for her red hot style of a custom Khaite slouchy leather bomber jacket and red slip dress, which was awe-inspiring on its own but even more jaw-dropping when she added two Indian designers’ ruby, rubellite and diamonds jewels to the mix.
She wore an eye-arresting Manish Malhotra 18K gold choker set with custom cut rubies and diamonds as the first layer around her neck and then added a three-drop necklace from Sabyasachi High Jewelry that featured a mix of rubellite and tourmaline gems with brilliant cut diamonds. I also noticed either a three-tiered ruby and diamond earring high up on her ear and a stunning cabochon cut ruby and diamond ring, but I cannot be sure which designer created these two pieces.
The monochromatic look was dramatic and chic and the jewels were aspirational yet on target with today’s trends toward red/scarlet/burgundy colored gemstones.
In keeping with her penchant for multiple earrings in each lobe and “diamonds,” she also wore two styles of studs by Reza — one with round diamonds and one with pear-shaped diamonds.
Rihanna is is a superstar for varied reasons, and her jewelry style is among the most creative, daring and statement-making of our time.

Honoring a Legacy: How Smith & Son Jewelers Exceeded Every Goal With Wilkerson
When Andrew Smith decided to close the Springfield, Massachusetts location of Smith & Son Jewelers, the decision came down to family. His father was retiring after 72 years in the business, and Andrew wanted to spend more time with his children and soon-to-arrive grandchildren.
For this fourth-generation jeweler whose great-grandfather founded the company in 1918, closing the 107-year-old Springfield location required the right partner. Smith chose Wilkerson, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish.
"Everything they told me was 100% true," Smith says. "The ease and use of all their tools was wonderful."
The consultants' knowledge and expertise proved invaluable. Smith and his father set their own financial goal, but Wilkerson proposed three more ambitious targets. "We thought we would never make it," Smith explains. "We were dead wrong. We hit our first goal, second goal and third goal. It was amazing."
Smith's recommendation is emphatic: "I would never be able to do what they did by myself."
