CAMEOS, WHICH ARE quite beautiful when they are antique or ancient and carved by the master jewelers of the time in which they were popular, are getting a facelift by independent designers. Rihanna has keyed into this look, judging from her appearance at the Dior Menswear Spring/Summer 2026 show in Paris, where she wore a cameo necklace by New York-based Jesse Marlo Lazowski of Marlo Laz. Lazowski infused the look with a fresh and offbeat feeling. And Rihanna wore it with her usual cool girl vibe, sure to resonate with millennials and Gen Xers who may not fully appreciate the craftsmanship behind such pieces — and who may have written them off when they found them in their grandmothers’ jewelry boxes. Bad Gal RiRi is responsible for many of the trends to which this demographic has responded: chokers, ropes of diamond necklaces down to the navel, multiple earrings climbing up the lobe and various other pieces she has popularized.

The Artemis 14K Yellow Gold Pearl Cameo Necklace is a mix of an antique cameo and modern pearls and champagne diamonds. Rihanna complemented the necklace with pieces from Briony Raymond, a creative designer and vintage dealer from whom she has worn many pieces in the past. On this occasion she wore Raymond’s Sloan Ear Cuff, Pave Diamond Sloan Ear Cuff and Sloan Stud.

Honoring a Legacy: How Smith & Son Jewelers Exceeded Every Goal With Wilkerson

When Andrew Smith decided to close the Springfield, Massachusetts location of Smith & Son Jewelers, the decision came down to family. His father was retiring after 72 years in the business, and Andrew wanted to spend more time with his children and soon-to-arrive grandchildren. For this fourth-generation jeweler whose great-grandfather founded the company in 1918, closing the 107-year-old Springfield location required the right partner. Smith chose Wilkerson, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. "Everything they told me was 100% true," Smith says. "The ease and use of all their tools was wonderful." The consultants' knowledge and expertise proved invaluable. Smith and his father set their own financial goal, but Wilkerson proposed three more ambitious targets. "We thought we would never make it," Smith explains. "We were dead wrong. We hit our first goal, second goal and third goal. It was amazing." Smith's recommendation is emphatic: "I would never be able to do what they did by myself."
