I WILL ADMIT it. I am not into football. I still can’t figure out all the nuances. That’s even after having two brothers who were captains of their football teams in high school (and being dragged to all of their Thanksgiving games), a dad who made going to see “the game” in the freezing cold a family event and nephews who rooted loudly for their teams on TV while not letting me talk until a commercial. But I am a Rihanna fan and tuned in to the halftime show when one said brother called and said, “It’s time.”

Rihanna in red descended from the sky and was in rare form after not performing live for seven years. She broke the internet once again with her performance, which served as a subtle way of announcing she is pregnant again. And for all of us jewelry enthusiasts, it was notable for the medley of pieces she wore for her medley of top hits.

RiRi’s fashion was all red hot, including an Alaia puffer coat that came off to reveal a red Loewe’s catsuit and bustier under a pair of red overalls (inspired by flight gear in a nod to her floating down from above the stadium on a platform). The trendsetting superstar also wore three vintage diamond brooches on the overalls, all by the fourth-generation vintage company Joseph Saidian & Sons, which wrote on Instagram: “The Jewelry moment of the decade! The legendary #Rihanna wearing three of our vintage diamond brooches at the #Superbowl halftime show. #Thebrooch is back.”

Brooches have been back for years among antique and vintage aficionados and big brand houses, but now that Rihanna has worn three of them, they are sure to stick and evolve as a mega trend.

Meanwhile, on her wrist was the Jacob & Co. Brilliant Skeleton Northern Lights stainless steel watch. It featured a red strap and red sapphire crystal and double diamond surround on the case and pave diamonds on the crown.

The “Diamonds” singer also shone brightly in a mix of Messika earrings, including the Magnetic Love mono earring, Équilibristes single earring and the High Voltage Equalizer earring, among others.

And when she held the mic, her Bayco rare, natural, unheated 19.47-carat Burma ruby and diamond ring dazzled.

The performance was the best part of the Super Bowl for me — 15 minutes I definitely could relate to and understand.

Bravo, Rihanna. You mixed modern with vintage and added a unique watch, all with your distinctive star style.

Four Decades of Excellence: How Wilkerson Transformed a Jeweler's Retirement into Celebration

After 45 years serving the Milwaukee community, Treiber & Straub Jewelers owner Michael Straub faced a significant life transition. At 75, the veteran jeweler made a personal decision many business owners understand: "I think it's time. I want to enjoy my wife with my grandchildren for the next 10, 15 years." Wilkerson's expertise transformed this major business transition into an extraordinary success. Their comprehensive approach to managing the going-out-of-business sale created unprecedented customer response—with lines forming outside the store and limits on how many shoppers could enter at once due to fire safety regulations. The results exceeded all expectations. "Wilkerson did a phenomenal job," Straub enthuses. "They were there for you through the whole thing, helped you with promoting it, helping you on day-to-day business. I can't speak enough for how well they did." The partnership didn't just facilitate a business closing; it created a celebratory finale to decades of service while allowing Straub to confidently step into his well-earned retirement.
