Running List of Ideas for Prom Promotions

Prom season begins with National Prom Day on March 31, 2025 and continues through June. A related event, on May 24, 2025, is Tiara Day, which is a good time to promote one of the more notable prom accessories.

Here are a few promotional ideas to use during prom season (running list):

  • Consider adding a special section/new tab to your website for tiaras and other prom jewelry.
  • Consider tiara and jewelry rental for trusted customers — IF your insurance can handle it.
  • During prom season, use your store’s social media page to share your own prom experiences (and photos, of course!) Encourage your staff to do the same, and invite your customers to share their photos and stories. #promtales
  • Sharing memories online? Offer a prize for the best/worst/most memorable #promtales story.
  • Contact local schools to see if you can sponsor the prom queen’s tiara. “That is the girl that every other girl wants to be, and she’s wearing a piece of jewelry that is going to become a requested piece of jewelry,” said management consultant Kate Peterson. “Beads are best because they are easiest to customize to the school. And you’ll get their parents’ business, too.” INSTORE May 2017

Family Legacy, New Chapter: How Wilkerson Turns 89 Years of History Into Future Success

After 89 years of serving the Albany community, Harold Finkle Your Jeweler faced a pivotal decision. For third-generation owner Justin Finkle, the demanding hours of running a small business were taking precious time away from his young family. "After 23 years, I decided this was the time for me," Finkle explains. But closing a business with nearly nine decades of inventory and customer relationships isn't something easily managed alone. Wilkerson's comprehensive approach transformed this challenging transition into a remarkable success story. Their strategic planning handled everything from advertising and social media to inventory management and staffing — elements that would overwhelm most jewelers attempting to navigate a closing sale independently. The results speak volumes. "Wilkerson gave us three different tiers of potential goals," Finkle notes. "We've reached that third tier, that highest goal already, and we still have two weeks left of the sale." The partnership didn't just meet financial objectives—it exceeded them ahead of schedule.
