Blue Nile to Open First Webroom Store Outside of New York

Online retailer to enter the Washington, D.C. area.

Blue Nile will open its third brick-and-mortar Webroom store, which will be its first outside of New York, the online jewelry retailer announced. The new store will be located at Tysons Corner Center mall in Fairfax County, VA and is expected to open by mid-summer.

Blue Nile opened its first Webroom last June at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, NY and recently announced a second location at the Westchester Mall in White Plains, NY, slated to open by early summer.

“With its tech-savvy, early adopter residents, the Washington, D.C. area is a strong market for Blue Nile and an ideal location for our third Webroom,” says Blue Nile Chief Merchandising Officer Julie Yoakum. “The Webroom is on the other end of the spectrum from traditional jewelry stores, in terms of both physical look and shopping experience. We’re going to shock some people – in a good way.”

In February, Blue Nile said it was planning to open four new stores this year.
