This Los Angeles Company Is Hooking Celebrities With Its 3D-Printed Jewelry

Thanks to Jenny Wu, 3D-printed jewelry is gaining influence in fashion-forward circles, Refinery 29 writes. The pop culture website says that the jewelry made by her Los Angeles-based company, LACE, is earning the favor of celebrities like Carrie Underwood and Ingrid Nilsen, and is also growing more visible in the contemporary art scene as well as festivals. Pieces range from $50 to $1,200 and are crafted from “materials that typically aren’t in jewelry, including nylon and stainless steel, as well as premium materials such as silver and gold.” In this interview with the Harvard graduate, Wu offers a glimpse into her design process and explains the advantages of 3D printing versus traditional methods of manufacturing jewelry.
