SRK and Kiran Hospital Jointly Conduct A Successful and Record-Breaking Blood Donation Camp

(PRESS RELEASE) Shree Ramkrishna Exports (SRK), a leader in the world of diamonds, organized a blood donation camp on 4th and 5th March 2022 at its green crafting facilities ‘SRK Empire’ and ‘SRK House’ located in Surat. The camp was conducted jointly with Kiran Multi Super speciality Hospital of Surat.

The noble initiative received an overwhelming response. The camp saw enthusiastic participation, and more than 500 units of blood was collected from SRK personnel, including senior officials of the company. This is around 10% of the total personnel strength at SRK. It was a record setting donation for both SRK and Kiran Hospital. The hospital could attain this benchmark as they received good operational support from SRK Team, who also managed the entire camp very well.

For many who took part in the camp which was also successfully completed in record time, blood donation was a first-time experience. Each donor went through detailed medical screening and blood investigations of hemoglobin, blood group, weight, etc. before they donated their blood.

On this occasion, Shri Akshaybhai Dholakia, entrepreneur- resources & operations said: “As an essential part of SRK’s value ecosystem, we look forward to upholding only the highest standards towards enhancing the health and safety of our people and communities. I am extremely happy to see the enthusiastic participation of our people in the blood donation camp. We shall continue with our efforts towards social upliftment of the society.”

Organizing health check-ups for its people is yearly affair at SRK since decades. In the last 2 years due to the pandemic situation, the same was discontinued… and now with everything normalizing, SRK carried out the blood donation drive again this year. Incidentally, the same was initiated on 4th March which happens to be observed as ‘National Safety Day’, the main objective of the day being to promote the Safety, Health and Environment movement in the country.

“Our honourable Shri Govindkaka always believes in providing something meaningful to the society, and it is our responsibility to carry forward his legacy. Every few seconds, someone in is in need of a blood donation, but there’s not always enough donated blood to meet that need. With blood donation, one can save someone’s life, and what’s more precious than that?” quoted Shri K.D. Narola, entrepreneur-operations.

The company regularly conducts health check-ups at its green buildings, which are certified by U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). In the last month, SRK’s both the green buildings were ranked amongst World’s Top 5 Green Buildings.
