FOR MANY YEARS, I have rooted for Britney Spears to come out on the other side of the many challenges she has faced since she was young, and judging by her wedding and the sheer happiness she seems to share with her husband and longtime romantic partner Sam Asghari, she seems to have created a new, more stable life for herself.

The 62 carats of diamond jewels she wore, provided by New York City-based superstar jeweler Stephanie Gottlieb, were a perfect match for her gown and the glamorous wedding she held at her home in L.A. The jewels included two eternity wedding bands that were designed so she could wear them every day, and they surround her solitaire engagement ring.

One of the reasons I hoped that Spears would eventually conquer the troubled and difficult times she went through was due to the fact that I watched her ever since she was my niece’s idol when my niece was five and Spears was around 16. My brother told me not to teach my niece to “dance like that.” I laughed and told him she was learning how to sing and work her hips from her favorite music star — although I would join in with her and her friends, who all wanted to be the pop icon when they grew up. Then there were the challenging and more distressing times for Spears. My niece, now 26, found others to imitate till she found her own dance style and what you could call “singing style.”

So I was thrilled when Spears got engaged last September and then when the wedding was held in June.

And I was also quite taken with the diamond jewels that Gottlieb curated for the wedding: round- and pear-shaped drop earrings with a diamond halo, a heart-shaped tennis necklace, and a stunner of an oval tennis bracelet, which most likely were all part of the “something borrowed’ of the wedding style. The something new — her two wedding bands — included one with round diamonds in prong settings and one with east-to-west marquise-shaped diamonds set in bezel settings, and those were pieces that would remain on Spears’ finger. Gottlieb also provided the platinum wedding band for Asghari.

I also am a fan of Gottlieb’s ever since I met her at a trade show in New York City and we did an IG shot of her hands filled with the rings she had designed for the event. It was at the start of her career, and she has come a long way in becoming somewhat of a star jewelry influencer and in creating a thriving business online and in person.

To mark the sentiment of the big day, Gottlieb gifted Spears one of her signature heart pave pendants with the wedding date on the back.

Congratulations to Spears and Asghari, and I wish them a long and happy life. Congratulations also to Gottlieb for choosing elegant yet classic jewelry that looked stunning on the one-time teen star who has turned into a beautiful, spirited woman. And to all who admired her as young girls, may all of you keep on singing, dancing and remembering “the moves” as you grow into amazing women yourselves. And may you all have stunning diamonds that you receive or purchase on your own. (-:

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
