Symposium Returns for 2025 With a Stellar Roster

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK — Once again, The Plumb Club will be partnering with JCK, and as its founding sponsor Jewelers Mutual, to host Symposium ’25, an exclusive day of retailer-focused learning and executive networking.

Based upon last year’s event survey and retailer feedback, the successful event is evolving with a new format, a new venue, and a roster of key topics and speakers, shaped by input from a committee of retail advisors.

The second annual Symposium will be held in New York City on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at City Winery, Pier 57, during the city’s week of jewelry festivities. Like the inaugural event in 2024, industry leaders, top retail executives, and key buyers will be invited to attend this limited seating opportunity.

Fun networking events will consist of a sumptuous buffet breakfast at 8am, an expansive lunch at noon, and the day will culminate with a lavish cocktail reception complete with interactive info-tainment-driven wine tastings and cheese pairings with experienced expert sommeliers.

Renowned speakers will present on key topics identified as being of prime importance by the event’s retail advisory committee. The speaker roster consists of:

  • Erica Keswin: Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Iconic brand (Nike, NFL, NASA) advisor and workplace strategist speaking on the area of employee engagement, retention and work-life balance.
  • Paul Aaron: CEO and co-founder of Addition, an AI research and development company working with marketing organizations (Prudential, Unilever, Google) to create consumer experiences using AI generative models. He will speak on AI jewelry applications.
  • Chris Voss: Former FBI lead hostage negotiator, authority on high-stakes negotiation, CEO and founder: Black Swan Group Ltd., Wall Street Journal bestselling author speaking on employee engagement and communications.
  • Seth Mattison: Workforce strategist and management trend spotter, author of “The War at Work” speaking on the areas of connecting with multiple generations, both internal to a company and the external customer.
  • Sheena Iyengar: Director, Global Leadership Matrix, author of “Think Bigger” and “The Art of Choosing”. Iyengar is a highly-sought-after speaker since her TED Talk went viral. She will speak on the area of the power of choice and on meaningful choices to spark innovation.
  • Frank Cespedes: Professor and senior lecturer at Harvard University, faculty chair of the Aligning Strategy and Sales executive program at Harvard Business School and author will lead a case study pertinent to the jewelry industry.
  • Charles Duhigg: New York Times bestselling author, Pulitzer-Prize-Winning columnist for the New York Times Magazine, host of the “How-To!” podcast will speak on the area of “Super Communicators: The Power of Conversation and Hidden Language of Connection”.

Rounding out the presentations, there will be a discussion panel, moderated by Victoria Gomelsky, consisting of selected retailers and suppliers on how each discipline can be of prime assistance and aid to the other. Additionally, a facilitated breakout session will follow the morning’s keynote presentation to share ideas about how the fundamentals of HR and employee engagement can be implemented in various businesses.

Roger Forman, president of The Plumb Club, as well as its member, Marathon Company, says, “We were thrilled with the success of our inaugural Symposium event in 2024 and we got great feedback from attendees. Additionally, we learned about the needs and desires of the attending retailers. That is why we created a committee of renowned retail companies to help us build the most comprehensive event, filled with information that directly impacts our customers. An informed and knowledgeable industry is beneficial for everyone. Symposium ‘25 further underscores two key pillars of The Plumb Club, which are education and innovation in the jewelry space.”

Retiring? Let Wilkerson Do the Heavy Lifting

Retirement can be a great part of life. As Nanji Singadia puts it, “I want to retire and enjoy my life. I’m 78 now and I just want to take a break.” That said, Nanji decided that the best way to move ahead was to contact the experts at Wilkerson. He chose them because he knew that closing a store is a heavy lift. To maximize sales and move on to the next, best chapter of his life, he called Wilkerson—but not before asking his industry friends for their opinion. He found that Wilkerson was the company most recommended and says their professionalism, experience and the homework they did before the launch all helped to make his going out of business sale a success. “Wilkerson were working on the sale a month it took place,” he says. “They did a great job.”
