The joy of jewelry made a comeback at the 2021 Oscars with the return of the red carpet and live show. Social distancing and a smaller audience didn’t stop the trend toward jewelry that sparkled brightly and brought glamour back at the end of the awards season.

Zendaya, who is Bvlgari’s ambassador, wore a sneak peak of the brand’s jewelry that will launch in summer. It was one of the most inspirational looks that will influence jewelry to come. The necklace was the showstopper piece and is transformable with two diamond collars with removable center brooch and tassel. The look was finished with diamond earrings, bracelet and diamond rings.

Although Andra Day’s entire look — gold gown and Tiffany & Co. yellow diamond earrings — was full of drama and statement pieces, she showed off the trend toward rings with these rings from Tiffany & Co.

Carey Mulligan’s gorgeous gold was perfectly accented by Cartier High Jewelry, which was perhaps the only truly colorful jewelry at the awards show. She wore Cartier High Jewelry earrings in platinum, 18K rose gold, tourmalines, colored sapphires and diamonds and a jaw-dropping Cartier High Jewelry ring in platinum, 18K rose gold, tourmaline, colored sapphires and diamonds (unfortunately not shown).

Maria Bakalova wore the white gown trend like royalty, accentuated by diamond necklace, long swingy earrings and diamond rings by Moussaieff.

Viola Davis, also dressed in white, shone in Forevermark diamonds. Both Bakalova and Davis showed that the long earring trend is one that is hanging around.

Amanda Seyfried also wore Forevermark diamonds in a more subdued way that accented her red gown. She wore multiple thin bracelets, a look that is beginning to evolve as a trend.

Singer Tiara Thomas wore one of the most progressive looks in diamonds of the evening: a lariat with a floral centerpiece. It mixed modern with a touch of vintage.

Vanessa Kirby knows how to turn heads. This time she did it by wearing her Cartier High Jewelry diamond necklace turned to be a choker in front and dip down her back.

Reese Witherspoon dazzled in red and Bvlgari jewelry. She wore just enough to sparkle without being outshone by her jewelry.
