3 Diamond Industry Analysts Launch ‘The Diamond Dudes’ Monthly Podcast

Three diamond industry analysts have launched The Diamond Dudes, a monthly podcast offering commentary on the global diamond trade. The first episode released April 16.

The podcast features Avi Krawitz, formerly of Rapaport and now with TheDiamondPress.com; Rob Bates, former news director of JCK and founder of TheJewelryWire.com; and Edahn Golan, diamond industry analyst and head of data supplier Tenoris. The three collectively have more than 75 years of experience covering and analyzing the diamond industry, according to the hosts.

The podcast’s tagline is “Three industry experts. A thousand opinions.” Episodes will cover market trends, major developments and issues across the diamond pipeline, from mining and manufacturing to retail and consumer behavior.

“We’ve each spent decades reporting on and analyzing this business, and we’re watching it go through one of its worst crises ever,” the three said in a joint statement. “We hope each episode will provide key insights on where the trade goes from here.”

The debut episode covers De Beers’ Desert Diamonds marketing campaign and its implications for natural diamond branding, the industry reception of World Diamond Day, and developments surrounding the potential sale of De Beers.
