(PRESS RELEASE) From all over the world, designs were uploaded from people who wanted to share their vision of a new bead in the People’s Bead campaign created by Trollbeads. This is the 10th year that Trollbeads has hosted the popular design competition. Both designers and jury were found among customers and collectors with a shared passion for Trollbeads.

Danish jewelry brand Trollbeads asked its fans and collectors to help design a new bead to the ever-growing collection of inventive beads that fit the original beads-on-bracelet concept. Once again, the event inspired followers from all around the world to share their creativity and opinion. The company received several thousand unique designs; 24 finalists were chosen by the fans, and then the public jury voted for one winning design.

Turtle Flower is a bead in Sterling silver. The bead is launched with this theme: “Slow down and enjoy beauty – it is all around you.” The turtle is a symbol of Earth and helps you to stay grounded.

The designer behind the 2019 People’s Bead “Turtle Flower” is Giada Manfredi. Giada Manfredi comes from Italy and lives with her family in a small town, Casalpusterlengo. Since Manfredi was very young, her passion has been drawing. The passion came from her uncle, who was a talented artist. He showed her his work and taught her about different techniques. Manfredi has had lots of admiration of her drawings from others. During the years, Manfredi also grew a passion for decoupage and sewing.

“I have always loved turtles. Every time I go to a new city or on holiday, I search for something like a pendant or a little figure that shows a turtle. Well … my house is full of turtles!

“I found the inspiration from a holiday in Sharm el Sheik, where I was at a boat trip. I was snorkling, and I hoped to see a turtle…that was my dream. Three excursions were planned that day. During the first and the second excursions, I saw many beautiful fish but no turtles. On the third excursion I had almost given up hope. And just there I saw an amazing sea turtle that was swimming next to me! I was so excited that I could not move. It looked like the turtle was dancing, as a flower cradled by the wind.”

“Turtle Flower” is now available in stores worldwide and online at www.trollbeads.com.

This Third-Generation Jeweler Was Ready for Retirement. He Called Wilkerson

Retirement is never easy, especially when it means the end to a business that was founded in 1884. But for Laura and Sam Sipe, it was time to put their own needs first. They decided to close J.C. Sipe Jewelers, one of Indianapolis’ most trusted names in fine jewelry, and call Wilkerson. “Laura and I decided the conditions were right,” says Sam. Wilkerson handled every detail in their going-out-of-business sale, from marketing to manning the sales floor. “The main goal was to sell our existing inventory that’s all paid for and turn that into cash for our retirement,” says Sam. “It’s been very, very productive.” Would they recommend Wilkerson to other jewelers who want to enjoy their golden years? Absolutely! “Call Wilkerson,” says Laura. “They can help you achieve your goals so you’ll be able to move into retirement comfortably.”
