Yehuda Sherlock Holmes 4.0 Scores 100% Detection Rate With ASSURE 2.0 Testing
Sherlock Holmes 4.0

(PRESS RELEASE) The technology in the Yehuda Sherlock Holmes 4.0 passed the Natural Diamond Council’s ASSURE 2.0 Program, scoring a flawless 100% detection rate in all 4 test sample categories: “Primary loose sample”, “Smalls loose sample”,” Primary mounted sample” and “Smalls mounted sample”.

According to the Natural Diamond Council, the ASSURE program website:

“The ASSURE Program assesses the relative performance of Diamond Verification Instruments through rigorous testing using very challenging samples sets”

“The ASSURE Sample is designed to challenge the instruments and ensure the test results are ‘future proof’. For example, the sample contains synthetic diamonds that are not yet commercially available to the jewelry industry.”

  • The Sherlock Holmes 4.0 was tested by a novice operator, and it detected 100% of ALL lab grown diamonds within the 4 samples and had an average false positive score of 2.5%.
  • False positive means that a natural diamond is detected as a lab grown diamond.
  • Only one other device was able to detect 100% of the lab grown diamonds. That device costs 3 times more than the Sherlock Holmes 4.0.
  • There have been only 4 devices that can check multiple stones that were submitted to the ASSURE 2.0 Program.

According to Dror Yehuda, president of Yehuda Diamond Company, “I was very confident that our technology would score 100%. I guess some companies have their doubts about theirs.”

This comparison chart is for the diamond detectors tested that were able to check many diamonds at once.

The ASSURE 2.0 Program also tested devices that can check only one stone at a time.
Important to note is that most of these devices scored a very high rate of false positive.

Following is a comparison chart of the single stone detectors that were tested.

“My dad is smiling from Heaven, and I could not be prouder”, said Dror Yehuda. “Being able to protect the people of our industry is our goal and it’s very gratifying to me and my family that we have achieved a level of detection that will save so many people from potentially making an expensive mistake and damaging their hard-earned reputation.”

An important difference between our 3 devices (Dr. Watson, Sherlock Holmes 4.0 and Big Sherlock) and other devices is that our devices work with the customer’s phone via an APP.
This enables us to keep updating the Yehuda APP with enhancements on an ongoing basis.

A lab grown diamond detector, like all digital hardware, is only as current as its software.

The Yehuda team is constantly updating the software to keep our customers safe when a new type of lab grown diamond enters the market.

The new, very challenging CVD diamonds that are in the marketplace may not be detected by other detectors, including older generation Yehuda models that do not have the new software installed.

Mr. Yehuda concluded, “Because we want to protect the industry, we are offering $2,000 as a trade-in allowance for any older detector (Yehuda devices and any other brand device) that originally cost more than $5,000 when they purchase a new Sherlock Holmes 4.0. We believe that everyone needs to be protected, even if they own devices from other companies”.

The ASSURE testing results of the Sherlock Holmes 4.0 can be found here.
