AS THE AMBASSADOR for Jessica McCormack, Zoe Kravitz has been seen on and off “the job” wearing the designer’s modern reboots of Georgian and Art Deco jewelry. Her second engagement ring was designed by McCormack. More recently, I spotted Kravitz on McCormack’s Instagram page wearing pieces from her Rush Hour collection, which is something of a departure for the designer and Kravitz. McCormack seemed to favor pieces dating from the 18th century to the early 20th century. The Rush Hour collection fast forwards to influences from the late 70s and early 80s, playfully nodding to the era’s career women and the bold jewels they embraced. Like Elsa Peretti and Robert Lee Morris during that time, she creates her own versions of the sculptural and sensual shapes that are statement pieces, powerful and strong. Kravitz’s edgy, chic and youthful styling blurs the line between jewelry suited for a business meeting and pieces fit for a night out — whether it’s cocktails, dancing or catching a favorite DJ or band — inviting a new generation to embrace this kind of adornment.

Classic elements like pearls are paired with bold, undulating chokers as well as rings, either pavé diamond or solid gold, that can be stacked or worn on every finger. The cuffs can be stacked or worn individually. On Kravitz, the jewels take on a contemporary slant that might set a new style while bringing back the best of the 80s.

As for McCormack, this new take on more recent historical jewels stays true to the brand while also aligning with current trends.

Wilkerson Testimonials

Cleaning House for a New Generation

At Komara Jewelers in Canfield, Ohio, Wilkerson handled all the aspects of its retirement sale just as owner Bob Komara’s children took over day-to-day operations of the business. They’d used other companies before, says Brianna Komara-Pridon, but they didn’t compare. “If we had used Wilkerson then, it would have been so much better.”
