DCA and Jewelers of America Reopen Jewelers Relief Fund

The fund will support jewelry businesses damaged from the devastating Southern California wildfires.

(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY — Diamond Council of America (DCA) – a non-profit organization that provides quality, affordable distance education, and Jewelers of America (JA) – the national trade association for businesses serving the fine jewelry marketplace, have reopened the Jewelers Relief Fund. The Jewelers Relief Fund, originally created in 2017, will collect donations for retail jewelry stores and jewelry manufacturers whose businesses were damaged by wildfires in greater Los Angeles.

“We are devasted to see the heartbreaking wildfires in California. Our hearts are with our fellow jewelers who are affected. We hope the Jewelers Relief Fund will unite our jewelry community to lessen the burden of our fellow jewelers who may have a long road of recovery ahead. All funds raised will be dispersed directly to affected businesses in the jewelry industry,” says Jewelers of America President & CEO David Bonaparte.

“If you are in a position to contribute, visit jewelers.org/relieffund to make a donation. Any donation amount – large or small – can make a huge difference for jewelers in need. We hope our everyone stays safe and knows our industry is here to support,” says DCA President & CEO Terry Chandler.

Impacted jewelry businesses interested in receiving support from the Fund can also visit jewelers.org/relieffund to fill out a short form. The industry is asked to pass the word along to those jewelers in need when they are ready.

Contributions to qualified 501(c)(3) organizations may be deductible as charitable contributions on a donor’s federal income tax return. Donations will be made to Diamond Council of America a 501(c)(3), who will disperse 100% of the funds raised directly to the jewelry businesses who sustained physical damage to their place of business.
