(PRESS RELEASE) NEW YORK, NY — The JA New York Show has joined forces with Piazza Italia on the creation of a new pavilion featuring Italian designers and manufacturers, beginning in March 2025. Italy’s long-standing tradition of excellence in jewelry design and fabrication and Piazza Italia’s dedication to launching Italian brands in the United States ensures that the made-in-Italy collections featured in the pavilion will have wide appeal among JA New York’s discerning retailers. In conjunction with the event’s already robust offerings, which include the March introduction of the MJSA Pavilion, this newly established partnership with Piazza Italia will serve to enhance JA New York’s reputation for offering a comprehensive marketplace serving the nuanced needs of the fine jewelry industry.

“We are delighted to align with an organization that shares our commitment to enhancing the success of businesses that offer exceptionally crafted products,” enthused Matthew Tratner, Group Show Director for JA New York Events. “Italy is a stalwart in jewelry and metalsmithing, and members of Piazza Italia are bolstered by the support of this influential organization; we are confident that attendees of our events will be thrilled by the unprecedented opportunity to shop these coveted, global collections in the convenience of the Javits Center in New York City.”

“Piazza Italia is a membership organization with a mission of helping Italian companies grow their businesses in America,” explains Piazza Italia co-founder, Dennis Ulrich. “JA New York has a proven track record of creating a vibrant environment that caters to motivated, qualified buyers and we feel strongly that our members will uniquely benefit from exhibiting in our newly formed pavilion. These events will become a primary focus of the complimentary trade show participation that we offer to our Park Luxury Concierge status members and is a major addition to our existing roster of regional partners.”

“The operating premise of Piazza Italia is ‘Stronger Together,’” notes Piazza Italia Partner, Marco Giovanelli. “We are consistently and thoughtfully analyzing the marketplace in order to build strategies and platforms that enable each of our members to grow their business sustainably, efficiently and cost-effectively. JA New York’s audience and its status as a thriving epicenter of the industry provide an exciting opportunity to our members for expansion and visibility in the U.S. market.”

In addition to offering free exhibition space to its Park Luxury Concierge members, Piazza Italia will be inviting non-member Italian manufacturers to exhibit with advantageous pricing, subject to space availability, and will eventually become the exclusive destination for all exhibiting Italian brands. Piazza Italia currently includes membership of approximately 30 companies specializing in jewelry. The organization also enjoys the support of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce, which boasts over 1,300 members, and of Federorafi, which is the National Federation of Gold Jewellery, Silverwear and Jewellery Manufacturers and has over 500 members.

JA New York Spring is taking place March 16-18, 2025. For more information about participating in the Piazza Italia Pavilion, please contact Marco Giovanelli at [email protected]. For information about exhibiting at JA New York please contact Tobi Smith at [email protected].

Honoring a Legacy: How Smith & Son Jewelers Exceeded Every Goal With Wilkerson

When Andrew Smith decided to close the Springfield, Massachusetts location of Smith & Son Jewelers, the decision came down to family. His father was retiring after 72 years in the business, and Andrew wanted to spend more time with his children and soon-to-arrive grandchildren. For this fourth-generation jeweler whose great-grandfather founded the company in 1918, closing the 107-year-old Springfield location required the right partner. Smith chose Wilkerson, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. "Everything they told me was 100% true," Smith says. "The ease and use of all their tools was wonderful." The consultants' knowledge and expertise proved invaluable. Smith and his father set their own financial goal, but Wilkerson proposed three more ambitious targets. "We thought we would never make it," Smith explains. "We were dead wrong. We hit our first goal, second goal and third goal. It was amazing." Smith's recommendation is emphatic: "I would never be able to do what they did by myself."
