Sissy’s Log Cabin Brings Local Youth Courtside for a One-of-a-Kind Basketball Experience

(PRESS RELEASE) MEMPHIS, TN — Local youth from STREETS Ministries gathered at FedExForum on Thursday for Sissy’s Log Cabin’s third annual “Basketball and Bling” event, where the official jeweler of the Memphis Grizzlies and FedExForum opened the doors to an exclusive, behind-the-scenes NBA experience on the Grizzlies’ home court.

Over 30 students participated in interactive drills and skill sessions with Memphis Grizzlies players Santi Aldama and GG Jackson, along with Junior Grizzlies coaches, gaining hands-on instruction and a firsthand look at the discipline, preparation, and teamwork that define professional basketball. The experience continued off the court with dinner in the Sissy’s Log Cabin Lounge, where participants received basketballs and commemorative Basketball and Bling t-shirts provided by Sissy’s Log Cabin.

“Thanks to Sissy’s Log Cabin, Basketball and Bling gave our youth an opportunity to see themselves in a space where they can succeed,” said Eric Ballentine, executive director of STREETS Ministries. “Stepping onto an NBA court alongside professional players reinforces confidence, builds belief, and reminds our students that they belong in environments that challenge them to grow.”

“Moments like this remind us why giving back is so important,” said Wyatt Jones, vice president and Sissy’s Log Cabin Memphis store manager. “Basketball and Bling demonstrates what’s possible when community partners come together, and we’re proud to join the Grizzlies and STREETS Ministries in creating meaningful opportunities for Memphis youth.”

Sissy’s Log Cabin continues to make an impact both on and off the court by supporting local organizations and fostering meaningful community connections across Arkansas and Tennessee, carrying forward the philanthropic vision of founder Sissy Jones.

Honoring a Legacy: How Smith & Son Jewelers Exceeded Every Goal With Wilkerson

When Andrew Smith decided to close the Springfield, Massachusetts location of Smith & Son Jewelers, the decision came down to family. His father was retiring after 72 years in the business, and Andrew wanted to spend more time with his children and soon-to-arrive grandchildren. For this fourth-generation jeweler whose great-grandfather founded the company in 1918, closing the 107-year-old Springfield location required the right partner. Smith chose Wilkerson, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. "Everything they told me was 100% true," Smith says. "The ease and use of all their tools was wonderful." The consultants' knowledge and expertise proved invaluable. Smith and his father set their own financial goal, but Wilkerson proposed three more ambitious targets. "We thought we would never make it," Smith explains. "We were dead wrong. We hit our first goal, second goal and third goal. It was amazing." Smith's recommendation is emphatic: "I would never be able to do what they did by myself."
