(PRESS RELEASE) MEMPHIS, TN — Over 30 students traded the classroom for the FedExForum court on Thursday during an inaugural “Back to School and Bling” event hosted by Sissy’s Log Cabin, the official jeweler of the Memphis Grizzlies and FedExForum. In partnership with the Grizzlies and STREETS Ministries, the afternoon combined basketball, mentorship, and school supply donations to prepare and inspire local youth for the year ahead.

Students participated in interactive drills and skill sessions with Memphis Grizzlies player GG Jackson and Junior Grizzlies coaches, gaining hands-on instruction and encouragement while experiencing the excitement of playing in an NBA arena. Following the on-court activities, STREETS Ministries received school supplies donated by Sissy’s Log Cabin, enjoyed dinner in the exclusive Sissy’s Log Cabin Lounge, and took home commemorative “Back to School and Bling” t-shirts and signed player posters.

“This event gave our students more than school supplies and time on the court. It offered them encouragement, engagement, and equipment, reassuring them that they have a community that believes in them as STREETS does,” said Eric Ballentine, executive director of STREETS Ministries. “We are grateful to partner with Sissy’s Log Cabin and the Memphis Grizzlies to create an experience that will inspire our youth as they head into a new school year.”

“Seeing the joy and confidence on these students’ faces is a wonderful reminder of why Sissy’s Log Cabin remains committed to giving back,” said Wyatt Jones, vice president and Sissy’s Log Cabin Memphis store manager. “Partnering with the Grizzlies and STREETS Ministries allows us to live out our values and put our faith into action by serving, uplifting, and inspiring the next generation.”

Sissy’s Log Cabin continues to make a difference both on and off the court, supporting local charities and fostering connections within its communities across Arkansas and Tennessee, reflecting the philanthropic vision of the company’s founder, Sissy Jones. This commitment to service was recently recognized with the prestigious Diamonds Do Good Award, honoring the company’s dedication to positive community impact.
