11 Jewelers Reveal the Superpowers They Most Wish They Had

I think we’re a little obsessed here at SMART Work Media with the concept of having a superpower. Probably because we all have so much we’d like to accomplish, both at work and our personal lives, that we need super powers, or at least super energy and a dual identity.

So, for whatever reason, “What super power would you like to have?” is often a question we ask retailers in interviews and surveys. And Trace Shelton, super-talented editor in chief of INDESIGN, did an entire story for INSTORE about jewelry retailers, who do, indeed possess super powers.

So, as we enter a demanding work season for many of us and in honor of the cinematic debut of BATMAN V SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE, here’s a sample of some of the super powers retailers have said they’d like to have, pulled from the “My Life” section that runs on the last page of INSTORE Magazine every month.

“If there were a way to make people healthy, to cure illness and disease, that would be my superpower,” says Ronnie Agami, Universal Diamonds, Atlanta, GA.

“Invincibility trumps everything,” says David Iler, Alchemy, Portland, OR

“I’d like to walk through glass doors instead of bumping into them,” says Anna Zuckerman, AC Zuckerman Jewelers, Mequon, WI.

“Flight. I love to travel and observe from afar,” Elizabeth Gibson, Eliza Page, Austin, TX.

“I’d like to be able to fly so I don’t have to sit in traffic when I go downtown to see suppliers,” says Phil Pancer, Ringleader Fine Jewellers, Picking, Ontario, Canada.

“Travel through time and space,” says Joel Hassler, Rasmussen Diamonds, Racine, WI.

“To be in three places at one time,” Kate Pearce, Pearce Jewelers, West Lebanon, NH.

“To snap my fingers and everything would be clean, organized and perfectly merchandised,” says Allison Newmann, Allison Neumann Studio, San Diego.

“I already have it! Creative Imagineering,” says Thomas Mann, Gallery I/O, New Orleans.

“I would like to snap my fingers and make my design appear. I get just as excited as the customers for custom designs,” says Karen Hollis of K. Hollis Jewelers, Batavia, IL.

“To be able to fly. Because really, who doesn’t want to fly?” says Chris Wattsson of Wattsson and Wattsson Jewelers, Marquette, MI.

And by the way, if you want to spill the beans about your own super power inclinations, dreams or fantasies, as well as other personal details for the “My Life” section, please contact me at eileen@smartworkmedia.com. Here at SMART Work Media, we are an inquisitive bunch, in case you haven’t noticed.
