(PRESS RELEASE) CITIZEN unveils the latest additions to its acclaimed Promaster collection, expanding the Air category with new Promaster Skyhawk models. Powered by newly developed Caliber U830 movement, these timepieces deliver enhanced functionality and performance in a sleek, aviation-inspired design that seamlessly blends analog elegance with digital precision.
For over 35 years, CITIZEN’s Promaster line of professional sports watches has offered superior functionality to ignite the imagination. Engineered for pilots, adventurers, and modern explorers, the new Promaster Sky U830 combination watches continue CITIZEN’s legacy of pushing the boundaries of performance, style and innovation.
The new Promaster Skyhawk U830 introduces CITIZEN’s latest Caliber U830 movement with Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) display. This new technology offers a higher resolution for better visibility and opens new possibilities for displaying more detailed information. MIP displays are much easier to see outdoors and offer other functional upgrades like the ability to set multiple alarms for different times and days, adding greater convenience. The light level indicator, designed to visualize the power generated by CITIZEN’s light-powered Eco-Drive technology, now has improved visibility and can display up to seven days of power generation history. Power generation details are indicated on the digital display in an intuitive format, making it easy to remember when to recharge.
The new Promaster Skyhawk U830 timepieces debut in three distinct variations, all crafted in stainless steel, including one bold option featuring a black finish. Each model is equipped with the latest CQ caliber, evolving from the Land U822 series, and now enhanced with a multifunctional MIP LCD display conveniently positioned at 6 o’clock. This new display allows for quick and intuitive access to world time, supporting global travelers and aviation professionals alike, and now features a running chronograph directly in-screen for enhanced timing functionality. A 43mm case ensures comfortable handling, while the dial design—rich in molded detailing and typical of the Sky series—includes three sub-dials at the 12 o’clock position, with one consistently indicating UTC time in true pilot watch tradition. A slim slide rule bezel adds technical precision and visual refinement, while the integrated stainless steel bracelet and uniquely contoured lugs, inspired by aircraft wings, round out a sophisticated and purpose-driven design.
