The sighting: Singer and actress Jennie, a member of popular K-pop group BLACKPINK who is known for her solo work, recently attended the 40th Golden Disc Awards in Taipei.

She wore a dramatic red Maison Margiela gown and accessorized it with an utterly showstopping ruby and diamond necklace.

The jewels: This spectacular necklace was designed and created for Jennie by Eliana Sbaragli of Antoine Milano at their private atelier in Rome, Italy. Made in 18 karat white gold, the magnificent jewel features 60 carats of Burmese pigeon’s blood rubies and 27 carats of D-color natural diamonds.

The brand’s Instagram describes the jewel as “a true masterpiece of artistry and research” valued at 4 million euros, which today is equivalent to $4,752,512.88 USD. The star is also wearing a pair of diamond earrings: 1.5 carat D-color diamond studs also made by Antoine Milano and set in 18-karat white gold.

The trends: 2026 awards season is well underway and we’ve seen quite a few celebs go for the kind of modern Old Hollywood look that the combination of Jennie’s edgy gown and wonderfully opulent necklace exemplifies so well.

We have been seeing some colored gemstones on red carpets, but not many rubies!

However: Jennie wearing rubies is a highly symbolic choice that references things that are important to her. Her rarely-used full stage name is “Jennie Ruby Jane,” her recent solo album was entitled “Ruby”, and her dedicated fans sometimes refer to themselves as her “Rubies.”

What do we think? What’s not to love? This necklace is so luscious and dramatic, it’s exactly what I want to see on a wildly popular K-Pop Star at a fancy awards show. The way those rubies glow in every photograph makes clear how extraordinary they are.

I think there’s a world in which this necklace could feel heavy and overly fussy, but the abstract gown and clean hair and makeup keep the overall look feeling fresh and modern.

Judgement: 100/10 for this lush and lovely moment of luxury.

Honoring a Legacy: How Smith & Son Jewelers Exceeded Every Goal With Wilkerson

When Andrew Smith decided to close the Springfield, Massachusetts location of Smith & Son Jewelers, the decision came down to family. His father was retiring after 72 years in the business, and Andrew wanted to spend more time with his children and soon-to-arrive grandchildren. For this fourth-generation jeweler whose great-grandfather founded the company in 1918, closing the 107-year-old Springfield location required the right partner. Smith chose Wilkerson, and the experience exceeded expectations from start to finish. "Everything they told me was 100% true," Smith says. "The ease and use of all their tools was wonderful." The consultants' knowledge and expertise proved invaluable. Smith and his father set their own financial goal, but Wilkerson proposed three more ambitious targets. "We thought we would never make it," Smith explains. "We were dead wrong. We hit our first goal, second goal and third goal. It was amazing." Smith's recommendation is emphatic: "I would never be able to do what they did by myself."
