AWCI’s Build a Watch in Las Vegas

(PRESS RELEASE) LAS VEGAS – The American Watchmakers-Clockmakers Institute is hosting two Build a Watch classes in Las Vegas during the JCK Show on June 3rd and 4th, 2018.  This class is a great opportunity for watch collectors, enthusiasts, and jewelry store staff and salespeople to step behind the bench and learn more about the watches they love.

This 6-hour class is a crash course in watchmaking.  You’ll begin with a disassembled Swiss ETA 6497 movement and learn about proper lubrication, adjustments, servicing, timing, and regulation as you assemble your watch.  The final stage is adding the dial, hands, case, and straps.  Seeing your watch go from a collection of parts to a beautiful wristwatch is a truly gratifying event that you need to experience.

Collectors leave with a deeper understanding of the watches they cherish, and store staff and salespeople leave this course knowing more about the timepieces they sell, what makes them tick, and the expertise it takes to repair them.

“I’m definitely leaving with a higher appreciation for watches and watchmakers”, says David Antonacci, Watch Enthusiast.

“There is a high barrier for entry in the watchmaking industry, and I feel like AWCI does a great job of encouraging and supporting everyone in class at every skill level”, remarksKaren Wood, Jewelry Shop Manager.

Not only do you leave with a better appreciation and understanding of watches, but you also get to take home the timepiece that you built with your own hands.

Join AWCI for these Build a Watch classes held at the Vdara Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas on June 3rd from 4pm-10pm and June 4th from 11am-5pm.  Registration is $1,295, to register go to awci.com/vegaswatch
